Writing 201: Poetry; Day Seven: Neighborhood, Ballad, Assonance

Untitled Poem

(for now)

by Gertie

It’s debatable what’s safer at times;

Outside in the neighborhood amongst other or home alone.

Go for a walk while it’s still day light and hope there is no occurrence of crime.

Get home and answer the phone;

It’s a friend who just wants to see how things are.

You tell them and they are concern.

They come over and you go for a ride in the car.

Now you feel safe and don’t need to discern.
