Everyday Inspiration, Day 6; The Space to Write

Finding the right space to write in Seattle can be a bit challenging. I say it is challenging because it all depends on the the time of year. When it comes to late autumn, most if not all of winter and early spring I tend to write inside especially when it comes to blogging. That means my awesome cat, Billie sits by my side or on my lap when I am writing my blog. Occasionally, I do go to the library to blog. During the not so good weather months or what I call the yucky weather months, I tend to do most of my blogging at home so I can get some inspiration especially from my cat, Billie. Occasionally, I also go to a coffee shop to have a London Fog as I people watch as I write my blog. So, during the yucky weather months the blogging part of my writing is done inside especially since I live in Seattle.

Now when it comes to the nice late spring months as well as most of the summer months I tend to blog outside. I tend to go to both Cowen and Ravenna Parks since they not only connected but feels like you are in the middle of nature. It feels like the middle of nature despite being in a middle of a major city of Seattle. Cowen and Ravenna Parks feel like you are in a small forest which is why it feels like you are in the middle of nature. I personally prefer writing outside in nice weather, weather it is blogging or other types of writing.

As you can tell, my writing is dependent on the weather and sometimes my mood if my mental health symptoms are acting up. Mainly it is weather dependent. I love being inspired by writing in different places.

Everyday Inspiration; Day 9: Writing & Not Writing

Hello, World!!! To write or not to write is very dependent on the day as was as the time and what is going on in my life at the moment. For example there are times I like to go out to eat and take my laptop with me to writer. I sadly was not able to do that when we had the not so lovely pandemic of Covid-19 which is sadly still around. I do some of my best writing when I eat in a restaurant and Covid-19 prevent me from doing that but that’s okay as I found other ways to write or not to write.

When I comes to blogging I either write in my bedroom or my recliner if my cat Billie doesn’t want to sit on my lap. I also like to blog out doors as it can give me similar inspiration like blogging at a restaurant does.

As far as not writing, sometimes my cat can get in the way but I am more than okay with that. Other reasons for not writing is due to work or my mental health is acting up. As far as blogging outside it is all dependent on the weather out side. Seattle is known to have gloomy weather days which sucks but I’ve learned to deal with it.

Everyday Inspiration; Day 6: Space to Write

A space to write is much like a space to do artwork. It doesn’t have to be the same place just as long as you have a space that helps inspire you. A place for me to write all determines the time of year as well as my head space. My head space to be in a mode to write outside but the weather outside might not be the best outside. I’m not about to write outside when its raining out or snowing. If I writer outside I usually use a pen or pencil and paper. When I am in inside it depends the mood I am in but usually use my laptop to write. When I write inside, I like to write looking out the window as it gives me inspiration. Writing inside can be a challenge as well. It can be a challenge when my cat, Billie wants attention. On that note, when Billie wants attention it can also be an inspiration.

Everyday Inspiration; Day 9: Writing and Not Writing

Good Evening, World!!! I’m struggling to do today’s assignment for some unknown reason. A reason I am unable to come up with at this moment in time. Today’s assignment more or less ask what I do when I am not writing.

I perceive the assignment as a way to think about my self care and the focus I must have to continue on with my recovery that doesn’t include writing. Writing is a form of therapy for me however I know it’s not the cure all for my therapy needs.

When I’m not writing, I am primarily doing something regarding my mental health treatment. I attend appointments with my case manager and therapist. I also attend group therapy. The groups I attend are Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Healthy Sexuality, and Art Groups. In fact if I really wanted to, I could write about the various topics brought up in all the groups I’ve been in as well as topics brought up in my sessions with my therapist and case manager.

When I’m not participating in my mental health treatment, I am spending time with friends. Most likely my friends and I are having a dinner get together or out enjoying the outdoors. Many of my friends and I love the outdoors and love to hike as well as camp.

So, basically when I am not writing, I am doing good self care by seeking mental health treatment as well as spending time with friends. Preferably, my friends and I are spending time outside.  I think this assignment just gave me an idea or two to write about later on.

As, I end this blog post, I want to thank you for reading. You guys are my inspiration on why I continue to write. Thanks for being awesome. Peace Out, World!!!
