Evening Ramblings

Good Evening, World!!! It has been an afternoon and evening of keeping my mind busy. Busy with various activities that can keep the brain sharp and busy. I actually started and finished a logic puzzle or problem or whatever you want to call it. I am very proud of myself for completing a logic puzzle and hope that I can do at least one a week. Logic problems can be a bit challenging which is why I am giving myself a week to do one and that I am surprised that I completed one in one day.

I also have done a handful of sudoku puzzles. I love doing sudoku puzzles and I do at least two a day. Today, I did eleven sudoku puzzles which a lot of them and I feel accomplished doing that many of them. I like the fact that sudoku puzzles keep my mind sharp and help me stay focused.

I also worked on two recovery related workbooks. Workbooks that I am learning new things about myself and recovery as well as new skills to help myself. I also hope to being able to purchase an extra workbook of both of the workbooks I worked on today so, I can have group around them when I get a job as a peer specialist. I am the type of person who will do a workbook before creating a group around it as I want to make sure I know what I am talking about as well as making sure that it could be helpful. Anyway, that two workbooks I worked on have been helpful for me and I know one of them was helpful for a friend as it was suggested by her for me to do the one she did.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you the reader for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog I would not be continuing to write my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

A Mental Health Day Focusing on a Self Care Day

Good Evening, World!!! It is just after ten evening Seattle time and realized that I have been doing some great self care due to the fact that my anxiety, depression and PTSD have been rearing its ugly head. It’s nothing I can’t handle with the help of my self care that I do on the regular basis.

One of the things I do is to do mindfulness meditation to help me keep grounded. Keeping grounded is a much needed thing for me and my anxiety as well my PTSD. Of course eating food on a regular basis is key to my mental health. Other things that help me with my self care is reading which the book I am is The Sorority Murder by Allison Brennan. Is is an awesome book and I am half through the book. I really enjoy the book. Another self care think I am doing is Sudoku. I love Sudoku. It helps keep my mind sharp. Something that helps me keep calm and at peace as well as given me some hope is music. Of course my cat helps me a great deal with keeping me calm. I don’t have much more to say as I am getting tired and and hungry. I need some food before getting some food. Good night world!

Loving My Coping Skills Box

Good Evening, World!!! I am sitting here at my laptop slightly depressed. I can’t blame the weather on my depression today as it is sunny outside. It’s a wee bit chilly but beautiful day.

As my depression acts up this is when I use my coping skills to make sure it doesn’t get worse or at least give it a try that it doesn’t get worse. In fact I used my coping skills box to help myself. One of the skills I used was Sudoku. I also did some cross-stitching and feeling like I am making some progress with it.

After I am done blogging, I am going to go and read. I’ll probably go to the local park and read. There is something special about reading outside. Reading appears to be helping me a great deal lately. Maybe it is because things are starting to get better that I am able to concentrate on reading.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

My Coping Skills Box

Hello, World!!! As I sit here at my laptop I’m thinking about my coping and the suggested therapy homework my therapist gave me yesterday during our session. The reason he suggested it is because it is an art project that he thought I would like to do. An art project that would help me in the long run. So, I decided to start making one last night. In fact I just finished and all I have to do is put coping skill stuff that will fit into it. I am happy that the coping skill box was an art project.

An art project that will help me help myself. I am going to be putting two stand alone books in the box. Stand alone books that are known to be what people call “eye candy” or “easy reads” because sometimes that is what is needed. I am going putting both Sudoku and Logic puzzles in my box to help me get out of emotional mind and think wisely. I also will be putting in some affirmations in the box to tell myself. I will be also putting in some cross stitch items as well.

When I need to use my coping skills box, I will have a plethora of choices to choose from. Having choices is always a good thing especially when you are needing ways on what to do when you are coping. Coping with undesired and intense emotions and/or urges.

Thank you for reading. Have a great day. Peace Out, World!!!
