Blogging Idea’s & Other Ramblings

Happy Holidays, World!!! I have decided to start doing a couple of free courses WordPress puts on for free that I have done in the past. I have finished both of the courses a couple of times. On that note I have started the courses several times and never finished them. It is my hope that I will be able to not only start the courses but complete them once again. I hope to start them in the next couple of days.

Another idea I have for my blog is to restart my Weekly Plans on Sunday mornings. That’s where I tell you some of my plans for the week ahead. The other idea, I plan to do is do my Weekly Check-Ins on Saturday evenings.

I of course will be blogging about other stuff in the next few weeks as well as into the New Years. I will be talking about the holidays the next couple of weeks. Of course I will continue to talk about my cat Billie Dean and how adorable he is. I will also be blogging about work things as well as volunteer things. And let not forget about discussing about mental health and recovery related stuff.

The other ramblings I have to say is that my cat Billie Dean is be really cute and cuddly today. Billie is such a love but. On another note, Seattle was sunny out today. It was sunny but cold outside. As much as I am not a fan of cold at least it wasn’t freezing outside and it was sunny in Seattle this time of year.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. I really appreciate you the reader for reading my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog I would not be writing my blog. Again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Happy Holidays and Peace Out, World!!!

Everyday Inspiration; Day 6: The Space to Write

Hello!!! When it comes to the space to write, it all depends what exactly I am writing. Let use blogging as an example at this current time. For me to be able to blog, I need to have internet connection as well as my laptop with me. I also need to make sure that if I blog that there is no chance of drizzle or rain as I live in Seattle.

When it comes to writing poetry, I just need to make sure I have a pen or pencil as well as some paper. I also have to make sure if I write outside that the weather isn’t drizzly or rainy especially in the autumn and winter months. Poetry is something I may or may not share with other depending how personal it is.

When it comes to journaling, I make sure I have a writing utensil and my current journal. I usually do this in the privacy of my own home. If I am not home and say on vacation, I do this in a private room. Journaling is a private thing I do and most of the time I don’t share them.

Writing spaces can be different for everyone. When I write at home I have a space at my creative table to do so. I just have to make sure there is room for my cat at the table so he can lay right by me as I write. My cat, Billie Dean appears to want to be near me when I am being creative which includes writing. I really like that fact that Billie like to be near me as I write as it seems to be that it helps me not have writers block.

Intro to Poetry; Day 10: Future

Untitled Poem

by Gertie

The future is now.

Live in the present like cats.

Cats are mindfulness.

Intro to Poetry; Day 9: Landscape

Untitled Poem

by Gertie

Looking out the window all you see

is an on ramp to a major interstate freeway

and tents.

Tents of those who are homeless.

It’s heartbreaking and brings tears to ones

eyes

yet a sense of gratitude arises.

A sense of gratitude for having a roof over ones head.

Living across the street from

a freeway on ramp

isn’t ideal

but the gratitude of having a home is well

worth it.

Intro to Poetry; Day 8: Pleasure

Once Upon A Time

by Gertie

Once upon a time,

there was a sense of

 normalcy.

Once upon a time,

life was simpler.

Once upon a time,

people were much kinder to

each other.

Once a upon time

never was.

It never was because it never existed.

Intro to Poetry; Day 7: Flavor

Untitled Poem

by Gertie

It’s my birthday and I can

eat all of the cake if I want to.

The flavor of this cake is

to die for

as it is strawberry chocolate.

You’re not getting any as

I don’t want to share.

Intro to Poetry; Day 6: Screens

Damn You, Covid-19

by Gertie

Staring at a computer screen all day give me a headache

but the headache is well worth it as it is

because I love my new job more than I realize.

A job that is helping me along my career path even though staring at a

computer screen all day isn’t the most fun thing in the world to do.

I don’t blame my career choice for me staring at the computer

all day; I blame this stupid ass

pandemic known as Covid-19.

If Covid-19 didn’t happen, meeting clients in person;

face to face would be happing and not having to do

virtual appointment would be ideal to not having to stare a stupid computer screen

all day.

Damn you Covid-19, you are causing me to get migraines due to

staring at a computer screen all day;

just to help my clients.

The migraines are well worth it though as

helping my clients is the best feeling in the world.

Intro to Poetry; Day 5: Imperfect

Arms of Imperfection

by Gertie

Looking at my arms,

all I see are railroad tracks.

Railroad tracks due to scars.

Scars that were caused

by acts of self harm.

Thankfully, no more acts of

self harm and now just

reminders of it.

Intro to Poetry; Day 4: Journey

Untitled Poem

by Gertie

Walking along side someone,

on the path to recovery

is very much like hiking

with a friend.

It’s just this friend is

someone you help guide

through the life of recovery.

A life of recovery which is a

life worth living.

Intro to Poetry; Day 3: Friend

Billie Dean

by Gertie

Boy oh boy,

I didn’t realize how much I would fall in

Love with you and how much that

Love grows each day.

I love your facial

Expressions and your

Damn crinkly

Ear is what caused me to fall in love with you and your

Awesomeness.

Never stop being my lovebug.
