Photo 1; Day 10: Architecture

Good Afternoon World!!! Today is the last day of the Developing Your Eye, 1. It is on architecture. Since the topic is on architecture I knew what to do it on; Emerald House.

Emerald House is pictured above. The building about use to be where Emerald House was and is clubhouse. Emerald House is a part of where I get my mental health treatment. The mansion above is over 100 years old is being torn down to put up an office building.

Photo 1; Day 9: Pop of Color

Good Afternoon, World!!! Today’s Developing Your Eye assignment I knew exactly what I was going to take a picture of.

IMG_0267

The above picture above is a glowing Pillow pet. As you can tell its not glowing in the picture because I wanted to show you the face and the multi-color it has.

IMG_0266Now the picture above is in the dark with the stuffed animal glowing and how its a pop of color. Its a toy that wasn’t around when I was a kid but if as an adult I love it, I’m sure I would have loved it as a child. Stuffed animals bring the little kid out in me.

Photo 1; Day 8: Treasure

Good Afternoon, World!!! When I saw today’s topic of treasure I knew exactly what picture to post and why it’s a treasure to me.

IMG_0004The above picture is my beloved teddy bear fondly known as “Ted” or “Teddy” although he now sort of looks like a rat due to the nose. I’ve had Ted since I was born. So he is almost 39 years old. How many people do you know that have had the same stuffed animal for nearly 40 years? Not many. Ted is a treasure to me. He has been there for me through thick and thin. He is my best friend.

Photo 1; Day 7: Big

Good Afternoon, World!!! Today’s topic is “BIG” and the first thing I thought of was Junior’s penis. I quickly realized it wouldn’t be appropriate for me to take a picture of it and then post it on my blog. I don’t know the ages of my readers and didn’t want anyone to get upset or angry with me for posting a picture of a penis so I chose not to do so.

IMG_0163The above picture is known as the UW Tower and is the tallest building in my neighborhood. It was the old Safeco Building and I still refer to it as such. The students at the University of Washington (UW) look at me strange when I call it that so I try to call it “The Tower” but old habits die hard sometimes.

Thank you for reading!!! Have a great day!!! Peace Out, World!!!

Photo 1; Day 6: Solitude

Good Afternoon, World!!! Today’s topic is of solitude and I thought of the perfect picture from Christmas of 2017 in Olympia, Washington.

IMG_0115The above picture is from my hotel room I stayed at while visiting family for the holidays. As you can see I had a white Christmas. I stayed in Olympia, Washington as mentioned which is the state capital. You can see tiny bit of it three quarters of the way up on the left. So the solitude part of this picture was when I walked around the lake while listening to the sounds around me. I went back to the hotel room and had hot chocolate while looking out the window to the scene that is pictured above.

Thank you for reading. Have a great day. Peace Out, World!!!

Photo 1; Day 5: Connect

Hello, World!!! When the topic of connect came up I thought to myself “well this is up for interpretation” and that’s what the assignment stated as well. I’ll be talking about how waterways are connected. Specifically, I will be talking about the Ballard Locks. Let me give you a brief history of the Locks.

Operated by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the locks were formally opened on July 4, 1917, although the first ship passed on August 3, 1916. They were named after US Army Major Hiram M. Chittenden, the Seattle District Engineer for the Corps of Engineers from April 1906 to September 1908. Its fondly known to Seattleites as the Ballard Locks or Locks.

20170529_151416The Big Lock full of boats waiting to continue on their journey from the Puget Sound to Lake Union on Memorial Day of 2017. The water is filling up to lake level as it was low tide in the Puget Sound.  Shot is Looking toward the lake.

An empty big lock or at least empty of boats. No boats were needing to go to the Puget Sound so they shut it off to lower the water level to the low tide Puget Sound so the boats going back to Lake Union could get to their destination. This looking toward the Puget Sound.

Thank you for reading. As realize I love water. This is one of the many places that gives me peace. Have a great day. Peace Out, World

Looks Like I Might Be Able To Sleep

Hello, World!!! I’m realizing that I’m tired and might be able to sleep at some point tonight. I forgot to tell you in my last post that when I talked to Gilbert, we discussed the Photography course I’m take through WordPress. To find out that he too, likes to do photography. It’s nice to know that sometimes therapist can be human with you. It make them more real.

Speaking of being real, I’m thinking I should get going because I am falling asleep at my laptop and don’t have to fall asleep while posting. Thanks for reading. Peace Out, World!!

Photo 1; Day 4: Bliss

Today’s topic was a little more difficult to do as I already talked about what gives me bliss and that is water. So I decided I would show you my tattoos again and what they mean to me.

1030151853The above picture is that of my semi-colon tattoo. For those who are site impaired it has a black out line and filled in with purple. It is on my inner wrist. I got this tattoo as reminder on how far I have come in my recovery and on what NOT to do when things get tough. That is to self-harm and/or attempt suicide.

IMG_0001The above picture is that of a tattoo of a butterfly. Its a doily, lacey type looking butterfly that is black outlined and no color. It is on my upper arm/shoulder and the butterfly resembles hope for me. It reminds me that through the darkness the butterfly goes through as caterpillar there becomes a beautiful being of a butterfly. So it resembles beauty through the darkness and hope.

Thank you for reading. Have a good work week everyone. Peace Out, World!!!

Photography 1; Day 3: Water

When I found out that todays topic to photograph was water I became ecstatic as water in my peaceful place. Its the place where I feel a sense contentment. Both the emotions of peacefulness and contentment are rare for me to experience which is why I love the water so much.

IMG_0006The above picture is taken from a hotel that I stay at from time to time in Bremerton, Washington. It’s just a ferry ride from Seattle. The hotel I stay at and the Bremerton ferry terminal are near the Bremerton Navy Base and Bremerton (Puget Sound) Shipyard. The picture above is of a sunrise over the Puget Sound. This picture brings me peace.

Thank for reading. Have a great Sunday everyone. Peace Out, World!!!
