A Mixture of Middle of the Night Emotions & Ideas

Good Morning, World from Seattle and it is still the middle of the middle of the night here in Seattle. In fact as I write this blog, my cat Billie is purring on my lap. I am technically on crisis coverage till eight in the morning Seattle time and will complete my crisis coverage.

On that note there is a family emergency regarding my grandpa and thankfully my uncle is taking care of it till I am off of crisis coverage at eight o’clock this morning Seattle time. I did let the appropriate people know at work about it however I totally remembered I can deal with my family emergency while finishing up my much needed notes. I will send the email about catching up on notes while helping my grandpa once I know my supervisors are awake and aware of the situation regarding my grandpa. Either way I most like will do my notes, I just want to be able to get paid for them but like I mentioned before I want to make sure the supervisors are made aware that I will being finishing my crisis coverage shift and missing my regular shift and will bring up the idea of seeing if I can get paid catching up on notes while dealing my grandpa’s emergency. I am so grateful that my uncle is currently dealing with my grandpa’s emergency as I am crisis coverage for work right now.

Right now, I am struggling with some intense emotions regarding my mental health challenges. Specifically my depression and PTSD which both suck shit.Since doing mindfulness meditation appears to help my mental health symptom help a great deal, it is one of the skills I go to first. The next thing I plan on doing is doing something creative. I plan on doing both arts at crafts. The art I plan on doing is art work by coloring and doing diamond art. When it comes to diamond art I will have to sort some stuff out which is cool. As far as crafting goes, I will be doing some cross stitching. I love being able to use my self care to help with my recovery.

I just hope when I email my supervisors again later that they will allow me to work on my notes and still get paid for it as help my grandpa with his emergency. My work is not one hundred okay with me right now but that is okay as I know I am doing the best I can. At least they treat me with respect.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. If it was not for you reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

A Rude Awakening Due to Multiple Building Fire Alarms Going off At the Same Time

Good extremely early Saturday morning to everyone. It appears that the fire alarms on my street and the street behind my street decided to go off all at the same time. As of right now, the fire department has no clue what is going on. All I know is that it is extremely loud with all the alarms going off as well as the sirens from the fire trucks and police cares. It does sucks it is just the entire block that the fire alarms are going off.

I am currently outside with my cat Billie, waiting for the all clear to go back to my apartment. Of course Billie is in his carrier sleeping away as I read a book to pass the time as I have no clue how long this is going to take. My cat, Billie seems to e content at the moment when I am anxious as fucking hell. At least I have a book to read when all the clear is given.

When I get back to my apartment, I plan on cuddling with my cat and listening to music as I do art work. Specifically I plan on coloring. My cat, listening to music and coloring helps me a great deal when I get triggered by fire alarms. Oh goody we have received the all clear to go back in our apartment buildings. Now, I can cuddle with my cat as I listen to music and color or cuddle with my cat and read. Hopefully, I can get back to sleep.

I don’t have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog as if it wasn’t for you the reader reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. It is greatly appreciated from the end of things that you read on my blog. Again, thanks from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

A Conference & An Emergency

Hello, World!!! This week has been quite a week. Parts of it emotional as an unexpected family emergency happened which I will tell you about later in the post. I started this week traveling from Seattle to Tacoma for a peer conference. Tacoma is about thirty miles south of Seattle. I took the Amtrak train as I love taking the train because it is really relaxing for me. It beats taking public transportation. One of my favorite parts of traveling by train happens to be the views I am able to see. I did take a picture of something that I normally don’t have time to take due to the speed of the trains but I was able to take a picture of another train. The train is pictured below:

A picture of a BNSF train. Thankfully, both the train I was on and the BNSF train were going slow enough to capture the picture.

Anyway, when I arrived to the hotel for the peer conference I wasn’t expecting it to be as big as it was. It is a twenty six story hotel with a lot of amenities but sadly they did not have a swimming pool. As disappointed as I was that there was not a swimming pool, the view from my room on the twentieth floor was awesome. I had a view of Mount Rainier. Below is a picture of the view I had of Mount Rainier as well as the Tacoma Dome:

The peer conference was great and loved the fact the I was with about five hundred other people in recovery with a mental health challenge and/or a Substance Use Disorder (SUD). The workshops I attended were awesome and the best part about being at the conference was being able to volunteer and be of service to fellow peer counselors.

Sadly, during the morning keynote speaker on the second and final day, I received a call from my grandpa telling me that my dad was going to have emergency surgery later that day. My grandpa and I discussed that staying at the conference was the best thing for me to do since the surgery wasn’t going to be till four in the afternoon and that I would have plenty of support from my friends at the conference as sitting around the hospital wouldn’t be helpful for me. I went to a couple of friends to let them know what was going on and they agreed with my decision with staying at the conference for a few more hours because even though my dad was having emergency surgery it was scheduled for later in the day which was a good sign. My friends and I discussed that staying at the conference was a good idea but we all agreed that leaving at an earlier time would also be a good idea. So, I was able to arrange for someone to take over my volunteer duties and leave to take the three in the afternoon train instead of a train after the conference was over. I am grateful that I took the three o’clock train as my uncle picked me up and I dropped off my luggage at home and then went to the hospital.

As I waited at the hospital while my dad was getting surgery a lot of my fellow peer who are friends checked in with me via text or phone call. Having the support of friends and my family as my dad was getting surgery made me feel blessed. I am grateful for friends who have been checking up on me during my dads surgery as well as after his surgery. My dad did well during the surgery and is now in the ICU. He is doing well even though he is in the ICU. He has his sense of humor which is a great thing. I am glad my dad is doing better. I am beyond grateful to have friends in recovery checking in on me to see how I am doing and I am doing pretty good considering my dad had surgery.

I don’t have much more to say except thank you to my fellow peers for being there. I also want to thank you my reader for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things. I hope to tell you more about the conference and my dad in a later post. Again, thank you for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Back In The Emergency Room

Good Monday Morning, world!!! It is barely after two in the morning in my corner of the world. Hell, it is two oh nine in the freaking morning and I have my stupid laptop with me as I sit in the room of a stupid Emergency Room of a hospital once again. My mouth/cheek infection appears to be getting worse. Actually more swollen a grotesque at time goes on.  The doctors and nurses are trying their damn little hearts out one how to help me.

They like the fact that I brought stuff to do to keep myself occupied such as bringing my laptop to be able to blog and keep you all up to date since I have been failing at that lately. I have brought some art work to do. Mainly coloring stuff. Specifically, mandala’s to color. They seem to help me keep myself at some sort of peace and to lessen the pain that I am dealing with.  I just wish I could have brought my cat, Lil Gertie with me but I know that is against the rules. I do have a good neighbor checking up on her later today if I don’t get out of this stupid hospital.

I hope everyone has a good Monday as well as a good work week. I hope to keep you all updated as time goes one. Talk to you all later. Peace Out, World!!!
