Middle of the Night Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! It is the middle of the night here in Seattle. I am unable to sleep due to both insomnia and PTSD which sucks shit as I really would like to sleep. Since I am unable to sleep, I decided to pick up a book I bought at Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC). The book is call “To Shape A Dragon’s Breath” by Moniquill Blackgoose. It is the first book in the Nampeshiweisit series. It is about a 15-year-old Indigenous girl who trains a dragon despite what colonizers say or at least that is what the back says as I’m only twenty-eight pages into the book. So far, the book is a good read. I will keep you updated on how the book is as I continue to read through the book.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post except to say it is time to cuddle with my cat, Billie and attempt to go to sleep. I do want to thank you the reader for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog I would not be continuing to write my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

It’s Been A Long Day

Good Evening, World!!! It has been a long day for various reasons. One of those reasons was due to work as well as some news myself and the team I work on regarding our boss. I love my job most of the time and today was a mixture of loving it and being frustrated but mostly loving it.

The news regarding my supervisor didn’t come of a surprise but was somewhat frustrating for me especially since he is a very sweet guy. My supervisor has been on leave or FMLA for most of the summer like last year. His leave was supposed to end tomorrow (Friday) with him returning this Monday. Apparently, he resigned today via email with his supervisor saying that tomorrow (Friday) will be his last day. My colleagues on my team and I are not surprised by this, but we all wish he would have informed us sooner. I’m truly hoping that he is doing okay as I worked with him at a previous employer. There is a lot of uncertainty on my end regarding who the new boss is going to be and will do my best not to worry about it till there is a new boss.

After work I went to go get my meds. I was going to do it yesterday (Wednesday) but didn’t feel like doing it. Some of my meds help with the symptoms of my mental health diagnosis’s. Taking meds for my mental health is just one part of my mental health recovery.

One of the other things that helps with my mental health recovery is reading. On the way home from work and picking up my meds, I went to a used bookstore and bought me a book. Technically it is three books in one by Orson Scott Card. The books are The Memory of Earth, The Call of Earth and The Ships of Earth. I am looking forward to reading all three books in one book.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post except to say it is time to cuddle with my cat, Billie and read.

Caturday with Billie the Kat

Good Morning, World!!! It is another Saturday or should I say Caturday here in Seattle. I do not have anything planned for today as I am still on sensory overload from Emerald City Comic Con and haven’t had any down time from people in two weeks. My plan for today to read and cuddle with my cat, Billie. Hopefully, I will be able to finish Starter Villain by John Scalzi. If I do finish it today, I will write a book review of it tomorrow.

Now, I am going to show some pictures of Billie.

Billie just staring off in space and wondering why I stopped petting him.
Billie and his grumpy face.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post except to say it is time to cuddle with my cat, Billie as I read and avoid being around people today.

Thursday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! I didn’t sleep very well last night. Part of it was due to insomnia and the other part was due to PTSD. In my opinion having both insomnia and PTSD suck shit. Since I was not able to sleep very well last night, I decided to read. I am reading Starter Villain by John Scalzi. I am really enjoying the book, and I am hoping to finish it soon as there are some books I bought at Emerald City Comic Con that I bought that I really want to read. At least reading helps me not focus so much on my PTSD symptoms.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post except to say it is time to cuddle with my cat, Billie before I get ready for work.

Wednesday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! I’m looking forward to today. In fact, today has already been a good day. I was able to sleep in which is amazing especially since sleep is challenging for me most of the time. When I woke up this morning, I cuddled with my cat, Billie which is always relaxing and calming for me. I also read a few chapters in the fantasy book that I am reading. As far as what the rest of my Wednesday looks like I am looking forward to it.

The thing that I am looking forward to most today is going to volunteer at PAWS Cat City in a couple of hours. I always love when I am able to volunteer at PAWS Cat City. The other thing I am looking forward to is when I get home is do some artwork. I’m not sure if I will be doing diamond art/painting or coloring or both. I also plan on reading. I most likely will read the horror book I am reading as I have already read a few chapters of the fantasy book that I am reading.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post except to say it is time to cuddle with my cat, Billie before I get ready to go volunteer at PAWS Cat City.

2nd Day of Emerald City Comic Con in the Books

Good Evening, World!!! The second day of Emerald City Comic Con (ECCC) is in the books. I had a great day and wish to share it with you along with some pictures I took. First off, I bought two books to get signed which I did. The first thing after buying more books was attend a friendship bracelet making activity in the pride room which I have picture of. I went to multiple panels and two autograph sessions after two of the panels I attended. One of the panels I went to was called “Not-so-Accurate Histories Filled with Fairies, Magic and More” which was about history and fantasy type stuff along with world building. It had authors of books on panel and went to the post book signing event. My other favorite panel was called “The Many Faces of Horror” as well as the book signing for it afterwords as the panel was authors. I love horror.

I will now post picture of the second day of comic con. I will put in a caption my site impaired readers as they have adaptive devices to help them read what is said.

The friendship bracelet I made in the Pride Room at ECCC.

Up Way Too Late Reading

Good Morning, World!!! I am up way too late due to reading. I am currently reading a stand-alone book called Starter Villian by John Scalzi. It is about a man who inherits a supervillain business from his long-lost uncle. I am really enjoying the book. I am also trying to finish it as I want to read the fantasy trilogy my best friend gave me as well the two books I bought at Emerald City Comic Con yesterday. The two books I bought yesterday are the first two books in a series. All the books I mentioned are either science fiction or fantasy. I really enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy genre books.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post except to say it is now time for me to actually go to bed so I can wake up to go to Emerald City Comic Con.

Up Way Too Early, Again

Good Morning, World!!! It is three fifty-one in the morning here in Seattle and I have been awake since around three o’clock in the morning. I wish I did not wake up this early, but I did. I ended up starting my period during the night when I was sleeping which sucks. To make matters worse my cramps are worse than normal. I am sure you the reader don’t want to hear about my period, so I am going to change the subject.

As much as I wish I could fast asleep this early in the morning on a Sunday, I am happy that my cat, Billie is so cuddly. As I cuddle with my cat, Billie, I have been reading. I have been reading a book that is in the dark fantasy and queer genres. In fact, I am reading a really good book series known as Fire & Brimstone by Nikole Knight. I am on the third book of this series, and I am grateful that I found this series as it is really good. It is a six-book series.

I do not have anything else to discuss or share or to write about in this particular blog post.

Daily Prompt; What Do You Enjoy Doing Most In Your Leisure Time?

Bloganuary writing prompt
What do you enjoy doing most in your leisure time?

I really enjoy doing a lot of things in my leisure time but if I have to choose it would be a tie between reading books and reading as well as collecting comic books. Specifically, I collect Wonder Woman comic books. I really enjoy the community of those who collect comic books as we are a unique set of people. The type of books I like to read are fantasy books but I also enjoy science fiction. It appears that folks who enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction books also like comic books which is why I think I enjoy the comic book community.

Just Another Post

Hello, World!!! I don’t know how to feel right now. Depression is hitting me hard tonight but at least I got some sleep in earlier. Even though I only got about four hours of sleep I am grateful for the much needed sleep as I was tired. Hell, I am still tired which is why I am probably slightly depressed.

Depression sucks but at least I know how to help myself. One of the things I have been doing is some step work. Specifically, I am working on step one. I really like the fact that the twelve step program I am in has its own twelve step work book. My sponsor is willing to go at my own pace working on the steps as she knows how challenging doing the steps can be.

Since the steps can be hard to do, I’ve done some self care. One of the forms of self care that I have done is to read. I have decided to switch books to read. I am now reading Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith. So far the book is good but I am only thirty pages into the book.

I also have been doing art work. Specifically, I have been coloring. I have been coloring to some music. As I color I have been listening to my childhood memories playlist on Spotify. I love being able to color as I listen to music.

I do not have much more to talk about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!
