Thin Mints Washing Away My Sorrows

IMG_0326

Good Evening, World!!! It has been one of them days. No matter what I do, I gain a little ground and then trip over the other shoe that finally dropped. Even though, I am struggling at this particular moment in time, I remember the things that give me hope like what I mentioned in my previous post.

I might be dealing with grief and loss from my grandma’s death as well as a trauma but I’m not harming myself which is a good thing. No, I don’t have urges to self harm but what I’m saying is that with the recent difficulties I am dealing with is that I could have some mental health symptoms that are more difficult than others to deal with.

Right now, I am eating a box of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. It is quite soothing for me to treat myself to Thin Mints. Girl Scout cookies are only sold for a limited time once a year.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! I haven’t had the best of weeks. I’m just briefly checking in for the moment as I’m having a slightly rough go at it. I didn’t get much sleep again last night except it wasn’t because of insomnia. It was because I experienced yet another trauma. A trauma that I most likely will not discuss with you or at least in the current future.

I think I am going to work on my mindfulness workbook to help me get back into the right state of mind. Something else that will be helpful is to look over my DBT homework that I did last night and isn’t due to Friday.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Anxiety Sucks Sh*t

I am struggling at the moment with anxiety. Anxiety that appears to be fluctuating quite quickly.  So quickly that I end up freezing. Freezing up so bad that I need to do something to get out of frozen mode.

For me I color. It has proven to be quite helpful for me. Coloring helps me a great deal express my emotions.

I also enjoy reading as it helps me get out of my head. It gets me out of my head enough to refocus my attention on to something else.

Thank you for reading. It’s much appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

Ugh!!! Someone Pulled The Fire Alarm

Hello, World!!! I’m getting frustrated as hell. Someone keeps pulling the pull station and it sets off the fire alarm. I was in the middle of working on one of my workbooks. I am now shaken up by this. It triggers my PTSD as I been in two fires.

Now that I have been triggered, I am going to do some mindfulness and meditation practices. I need to get back to being relaxed so I can sleep tonight.

I hope everyone has a great night. Thank you for reading my blog. Goodnight. Peace Out, World!!!

Just a Rambling or Two

Good Morning, World!!! I was able to get back to sleep after my last post discussing about how I woke up from a nightmare. Nightmares are not my idea of fun and not conducive to one getting sleep.

Right now I am thinking about my grandma and her funeral on Monday.  I miss her so much and its going to be difficult to say goodbye to her on Monday. I just want my grandma back so much. I love her so very much.

I think once I am done blogging I will do The Mindfulness Workbook that I’ve been working on. It’s helping me overcoming fear and embracing compassion. I am enjoying doing this workbook as well the other workbook I am doing.

I think I am going to get going and do my workbook. Thank you very much for reading my blog. It is much appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

Had A Not So Lovely Nightmare

Good Morning, World!!! Good news is that I finally got some sleep. Bad news is I woke up with a nightmare. Having nightmares is not my idea of fun nor is my idea of a good night’s sleep.

Since I woke up from a nightmare that was a bit more rattling than usual I decided to blog. After I finish this post, I am going to read Wonder Woman comic books. I love reading comic books especially Wonder Woman.

Thank you for reading. It is greatly appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

Snowing In Seattle, Again

Good Evening, World!!! It’s snowing again in Seattle. The weatherman inform people that it’s “not currently snowing in Seattle.” Well, I am sorry to say but it is snowing in my neighborhood and I live in Seattle.

Despite it snowing, I went and saw Gilbert earlier today. We discussed my grief with my grandma and her funeral on Monday. We also discussed the symptoms of my PTSD, Anxiety and Depression as well as what I can do to keep myself safe if self-harm urges are to appear. (NO, I don’t have urges to self harm nor am I suicidal.) We came up with a safety plan as a precaution as I’m going to be spending a great deal of time with my family. Don’t get me wrong I love my family, they just know how to get under my skin and vise versa.

Speaking of family, I want to call my grandpa. Have a great weekend and Peace Out, World!!!

Tough Moment = Reading Wonder Woman

Good Morning, World!!! It’s a beautiful sunny, frigid day in Seattle with snow on the ground. As beautiful as it is outside, I am emotionally not doing so well at the moment. I think part of it has to do with not being able to sleep for the last two nights.

As, I struggle to sleep I think I am going to read some Wonder Woman comic books as it is helpful to me. Plus it’s quite enjoyable to read comic books. I am happy that I have a dad that got me collecting Wonder Woman comics as it is something I can do for the rest of my life.

I am going to go and read. Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Sleepless in Frigid Seattle

Hello, World!!! It is one o’clock in the morning in my corner of the world. Right now I am having trouble sleeping. I am having trouble sleeping for a multitude of reasons. Actually, two reasons. First is due to the fact I am missing my grandma. Today marks one weeks since she passed away. Second is because of the physical assault that happened the other night.

It hasn’t been the easiest week for me yet somehow I am making it though. I am choosing to focus on my recovery. I am choosing to not harm myself when urges arise. I am choosing to live a life worth living for me.

All I can say right now is that it is freezing outside. It is 27 degrees Fahrenheit outside. I am not a big fan of cold weather. Hot weather I can deal with but not so much the cold weather. Maybe it is because I am from beautiful sunny Southern California.

Thank you for reading. It is appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

PTSD Can Phucking Go To Hell

Good Evening, World!!! My PTSD is acting up because of the assault that happened last night. I was able to talk to Gilbert earlier about what happened and we came up with a safety as a preventative measure. A preventative measure as just in case I get self harm urges at some point today.

One of the things we came up with was music. I can play my flute or harmonica if it’s before ten o’clock at night. I can also listen to music. As I mentioned before when words fail music speaks and I find this to be true.

Another thing I can do is art. Art has become a very helpful (and healthy) skill to have for me. Art is a way for me to express my emotions in a positive way.

The last thing we came up with was reading as it helps me get out of my head. Gilbert and I discussed reading my book as well as Wonder Woman comic books. We discussed superhero’s and how they relate to recovery.

Thank you for reading. It is appreciated. Peace Out, World!!
