Home With Cat

Good Afternoon, World!!! I don’t know if I stated in my last post, I am now home with my cat. In fact my last post was written and posted here at home. It is nice to be home with my cat at my side. Right now she is purring and it is calming me down quite a bit.

Now that I am home, it is my goal to get my depression and anxiety under control. How do I plan on doing this you ask. Great question. I plan on blogging off and on all day today. I also plan on doing chores which is an odd way of helping with depression and anxiety. Of course spending time with my cat is another way that will be helpful for my anxiety and depression.

I also plan on spending it time with some of my neighbors who have become really good friends. In fact we will be having a potluck dinner. More like an early dinner at about four in the afternoon in my corner of the world. That is less than an hour away for me.

I just wish I wasn’t having such high anxiety and increasing depression despite everything I am doing to combat it. Maybe if I blog later on about the dinner I had or whatever the hell is on my mind will help.

I want to thank you for reading my blog no matter how depressing it can be. For me I appreciate you for reading my blog. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Have a wonderful Sunday. I hope to blog again later on today to let you know how things have improved. Or I hope improved.  I am very grateful for all of you reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Still With Family But Missing My Cat

Good Morning, again, World!!! I am still spending time with my family. Mainly my grandpa and uncle. It is always nice to spend time with family but I am missing my cat right now. I know my cat is in good hands with my friend (who is a neighbor) taking care of Lil Gertie but I still miss her. I should be going back home today.

My uncle is taking me to the DSHS office to take care of some medical insurance issues due to the fact that they think I make more money than I actually make. I am glad that I have family to help me out with this stuff. I hope I can get it taken care of tomorrow without having to go to the Social Security office which is even a bigger nightmare.

I just wish my health was in better shape as this weird ass mouth infection is really getting to me. Having to be on a butt loud of antibiotics is not my idea of fun. I feel like that my health is affecting my mental health. My mental health is something I need to keep an eye on especially my depression. This is where I wish I was home with my cat but maybe being with my family is helping me with the depression to a degree.

My grandpa is making breakfast for a late breakfast early lunch. Maybe more like a brunch. Not sure what he is making but it sure smells good. Having a supportive family means a great deal. Even though their support is not as supportive as they think it is but their heart is in the right place.

I better go an see if my grandpa needs help making breakfast or lunch or whatever it is. I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Peace Out, World!!!

Back Home In The Concrete Jungle of Seattle

Good Afternoon, World!!! The funeral was amazing. I am finally back home in the concrete jungle I call Seattle.

The first thing I am going to do after I am done blogging is call Gilbert, my therapist. After that I’m going to get my meds. Good ole meds in the jungle of Seattle.

Thank you for reading my short ass post regarding me back in the concrete jungle of Seattle. Thank you so much for reading and Peace Out, World!!!

Tuesday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! Well, there is still snow on the ground here in Spokane where my grandma’s funeral was held. News sources say it is suppose to be snowing at sea level in Seattle which will be a shit show for me and my family going back to Seattle.

Despite the possibility of snow I am looking forward to going home. There is nothing like being in your own home. I miss my bed.

Thank you for reading. Have a great day!!! Peace Out, World!!!

Photography 1: Day 1; Home

Good Afternoon, World!!! Today is the first day of the Photography; Developing Your Eye Day One. Today’s topic is home. Home can mean different things to different people. When I think of home I think of the neighborhoods I live or have lived in. Specifically, the neighborhood I grew up in as well the one I currently live in. If I had photo’s of the neighborhood grew up in I would be sharing them with you but I don’t so I can’t.

When we think of home we all think of the neighborhood we live in. That’s why I’ve decided to share photo’s of my current neighborhood. Each photo will have a description of what that specific place means to me and/or the neighborhood below the photo.

IMG_0168This King County Metro bus travels through my neighborhood every 20 minutes or so. It goes to one of my favorite places to hang out which is the Ballard Locks.

IMG_0166This is one of the many bikes that clutters Seattle’s neighborhood’s including mine. You can rent for money to ride to get where you are going. The down fall is you have to have a smart phone to do so and not everyone has one. I’ve never rented one and don’t plan to. They litter the sidewalks and have usually fallen on the ground. This one is in rare form and actually in an upright position.

IMG_0172Good ole Seattle traffic. You can see that it has been raining in this picture as I shot it looking towards downtown which you can sort of see. This is one of the many reasons people ride their bikes and/or take public transportation.

IMG_0170Good ole Seattle Fire Department. In fact this is the engine Junior works on. Lights and sirens were going at the time of the picture. Something one gets to living in the city and near a fire station.

IMG_0164Another joy of living in the city is the never ending construction!!! (Can you hear me being sarcastic?) You can see one of the many cranes Seattle has. Last time I checked Seattle had the most cranes working in the using at the moment.

IMG_0169The iconic Blue Moon Tavern. It opened in April of 1934 and back then it was state law that all bars had to be at least a mile away for college campuses. Not sure if it’s still state law but this is an iconic bar.

IMG_0157Washington’s own pharmacy. Its a family run local drug store chain. Bartell’s has several stores around the Puget Sound area. This is the particular Bartell’s in my neighborhood and is where I get my meds at.

Now that you have had a tour of my neighborhood, I hope you feel at home. Thanks for reading. Have a great day and go enjoy your neighborhood. It’s an extension of your home. Peace Out, World!!!

The Joys of Being a Homeless Advocate and Pearl Jam Fan

Good Afternoon, World!!! It was announced yesterday that Pearl Jam is going to be playing their first concert here in Seattle in over five years. I, as Pearl Jam fan am beyond thrilled that they are finally coming back to Seattle to hold a concert. Not just one but two concerts and am looking forward to attending at least one of them.

As being a Pearl Jam fan finding out that they’re coming to the city you live isn’t exciting enough but being a homeless advocate this is even more exciting. Pearl Jam having what they are calling “home shows” is going to be donating money to help fight homelessness. If you been following my blog for a while you know I am a huge homeless advocate. It just happens I haven’t blogged much about it since I haven’t been doing all that well. However, with the news that was announced yesterday, and the hope that I am slowly getting back, it reignited my passion to help the homeless population. In fact they will be donating one million dollars. That money can and will going really far if they know where to donate it.

So as you can tell, that as I end this post, I am filled with hope and joy that one of my favorite band is playing two “home shows” and fight homelessness at the same time. Thank you for reading my blog once again. Peace Out, World!!!

P.S. I want to thank Pearl Jam for their donation to help end the homeless crisis here in Seattle.

There Is No Place Like Home

Good Evening, World!!! Right now I’m having some difficulties with a number of symptoms from the various mental health challenges I struggle with. I’m coming up with ideas on what I know that will be helpful for me especially since I’m finally home from holiday events with my family. In fact my last three post were from when I was out of town visiting family for the Christmas holiday.

There is no place like home especially dealing with a dysfunctional family during the holiday season. Now that I am home I am able to have my access to things that I normally turn to when the symptoms of my mental health challenges are being quite challenging at the moment.

The first thing I’ve done was cooks some food. In fact I cooked some comfort food and ate it. Some of the comfort food that I ate was given to me as a Christmas gift, such as fudge and other such baked goods. At lets not forget the hot chocolate on this cold wintery night.

Since I have food in my tummy, I can now focus on other things that will help me. Most of it has to do with the creativity part of who I am. The first thing I did was play my flute and harmonica. No, I did not play them at the same time. There is something quite soothing about playing a musical interment. Soothing enough that it helped me become more creative.

As I became more creative, I turned on my recovery play list from Spotify and started to paint. Painting seems help me get out the emotions I need to be getting out, just like music. I hope to show you the finished products of some of my paintings as at later time.

Thank you for reading my post. It’s greatly appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

Happy Labor Day

Happy Labor Day!!! It is Labor Day here in the United States. While Labor Day is now a three day weekend for many people, many others still have to work. Here is a link to a USA Today news article about how Labor Day got its start: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2016/09/04/labor-day-history/89826440/.

This Labor Day weekend Junior and I have pretty much been laying low and staying home. Or at least not really going any where more than five miles away from home. Our goal for this weekend is to spend quality time together without spending much money and to avoid crowds as much as possible with one exception. We  did attend a college football game and I am happy to say that the team Junior and myself were rooting for won by a landslide. And yes the team we saw play is less the five miles away from home.

It’s been nice just staying home and do nothing. Most importantly its been nice to spend time with  Junior. As I look back on the 11 1/2 years of working this is the first Labor Day I have had off and am taking advantage of it by being with the man I love.

I don’t have much more to talk about. I hope you all enjoy your Labor Day. Don’t forget to thank those who are working today. Have a good day off if you have today off. Peace Out, everyone!!!

Daily Prompt: Home Turf

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Home Turf.” Name five things in your house that make it a home.

I currently live in an apartment in a major city. Not only do I have my own apartment, I stay with my fiancé at his house about half the time. With that being said I will say what five things make my apartment home and what five things make Juniors house home.

GERTIE’S APARTMENT:

1)     Having Junior around. Who wouldn’t want their loving partner around to may their home a home.

2)     Having friends over. Being able to have an “open door policy” helps with having my place feel like a home. Of course the “open door policy” isn’t always an “open door.”

3)     Pictures of family and friends. It always makes any home feel homey when there are pictures of loved ones around.

4)     Stuffed animals. I love having stuffed animals around.

5)     Art work. I have art work around that my brother, Junior’s niece and nephew, various friends kids and myself have done. I hang it up around my apartment because having artwork and craft projects up makes it feel more welcoming in my opinion.

JUNIOR’S HOUSE

1)     Having Junior around. Of course I would want Junior around especially his own house.

2)     Having Junior’s family around. I love his family. They have become my family. They are welcomed at my place anytime as well.

3)     Pictures of family and friends. It always makes any home feel homey when there are pictures of loved ones around.

4)     Junior’s Awards and Medals. Junior has a lot of medals and awards from the Nave, Fire Department and College.

5)     Framed Puzzle’s. Yes, Junior has frame puzzles up around his house. Some of those puzzle’s we have done together and some he has been helped by others while some he has done by himself.

As you can tell both places have some of the same homey things while others are completely different. There is one that is similar. I love how both his place and my place feel home in the same yet very different ways. Have a great day. Peace Out!!
