Another Self Care Day from Work

Good Friday, Evening, World!!! I am taking another self care day from work for my mental health. It was triggered by a therapy session I had this past Tuesday. As much as I wish I wasn’t triggered to where I didn’t need to take time off for mental health reasons, I look at is as a sign of strength. A strength to take care of myself.

Today and yesterday have not been a waste of time in regards to work as I have been reading two books that are completely different but very similar. As a colleague says seeing parallels in books that are so opposite from either is awesome and a great way to learn. I am hoping to post about the intersections of the books into both my profession and personal live which I find fascinating. Reading even though it is both for professional and personal live for me is a form or self care for me.

Another form of self care for me was spending time with my beloved cat Billie Dean. Billie is an amazing 15 pound kitty that loves me unconditionally. I am so grateful that he is in my life. I hope he knows how much I love him back. Despite the weather today in Seattle, I still managed to get in a walk. In fact, I go two walk in today which is a great thing.

I did have a brief check in with my therapist today via the phone. The check in with my therapist was quite helpful and think she is a great fit for me and my recovery. I am grateful to be able to have access to therapy as many people sadly do not have access to therapy.

I do not have much more to discuss in the particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog post. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Middle of Day Check-In While Working

Good Afternoon, World!!! I am taking a few minutes of my time while work to write this particular blog post. I am just taking time to check-in about my day. I have been feeling a little blah but I think it’s because I am tired. Work is going well today. Going by more quickly than I thought it would.

I am working from home today and there are some benefits of working from home. One of those benefits is that I get to be home with my cat, Billie Dean. I love the fact that Billie keep me company when I am working from home. Another benefit of working from home is being able to write a blog post if I want when I have a spare few minutes.

Anyway, I ordered food through Grubhub for my lunch which should arrive at around one o’clock in the afternoon; Seattle time. I ordered a salad with ranch dressing and I am getting strawberry shortcake for dessert. I am looking forward for my lunch today.

I should really end this particular blog post as I have a couple of books that I am reading that will help me with my job as well as my personal life. I just let my work know that it is work related and let them know what the books are and they “approve” that it is work related. I am really enjoying the books that I am reading for “work.”

On that note, I need to end this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you do read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Short Post Before Work

Good Morning, World!!! I just wanted say a quick hi before I start my work day. I am grateful to have job that I love most days. Anyway, today is going to be a good day. A good day because I am booked with clients as well as having time to read some books that are job related that can also be related to my personal life as well but that is an entirely other post. I love the career that I have.

I told you it would be a short post before work as I do not have much more to say. I do want tot thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you do read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Mixed Emotions Regarding Covid-19 Vaccine

Good Morning, World!!! I am going to be writing about a topic that is considered controversial or at least it is here in the United States. I’ll be discussing the Covid-19 vaccine and my many emotions around it.

First and fore most, I chose to get the Covid-19 vaccine long before it was “required” of me to get it due to working in the “health” field. I say “health” field because I work in mental health care. On that note the governor of Washington (State) made a mandate the people working in any type of health care setting (including mental health, EMT’s, Paramedics and Firefighters) to be fully vaccinated by a certain date in October which I know has already passed. I understand why the governor put this into effect but I feel like it’s putting people in an ethical and moral bind.

Even though I have the Covid-19 vaccine, I feel like if I was forced to have it for my job, I would hesitate working where I work. But then again, at two previous employers, I was required to show proof of a TB test as well as vaccines for Hepatitis A and B. I started asking myself what the difference is and there really isn’t a difference except for the fact that I was required to have the Hepatitis A and B vaccines to attend public school so it wasn’t a choice as my guardians had me get it.

On that note, I am also a believer in my body, my choice. What I mean by that is that, I should be the one making decisions for my own health. For me, if I am pro-choice regarding abortions then I need to practice what I preach by having people have a choice in getting the Covid-19 vaccine without worrying about loosing their job.

So, I have mixed emotions about the Covid-19 vaccine as I personally want other people to get it to protect those who cannot get it but I also want people to have a choice in what they do for their own health care. I hope that makes sense.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Weekly Check-In

Good Evening, World!!! It is that time of week where I do my weekly check in. When it comes to work, work went okay. My direct supervisor is finally back from being on leave. I am sure happy she is back on leave as she is an awesome supervisor. My temporary supervisor is pretty awesome as well.

So, I took this past Wednesday off for self care. Specifically, I took it off to take Billie to get blood work done for his kidney disease. I got a call back from his vet saying his blood work is now in normal range. It is in normal range because of his kidney food diet he has been eating.

Another reason I took Wednesday off was because I wanted to volunteer at PAWS Cat City. I love volunteering at Cat City. When I volunteer there I get my kitten fix and realize how much work kittens are. As much as I love kittens I am grateful that I get my kitten fix volunteering as they are a lot of work.

As much as having a kitten would be fun, I am glad I have an adult cat. My cat Billie Dean, is an adult cat. In fact he is just around seven and a half years. But then again, Billie’s age is a guesstimate due to him being a rescue. Even though I “rescued” Billie, I feel like he was that one that rescued me.

I do not have much more to say in this particular weekly check-in post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated that you, the reader read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I wouldn’t be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Grateful for the Weekend

Happy Friday Evening, World!!! I am now off work for the weekend and am grateful to have the time off. On that note my direct supervisor is back from leave and I am more than thrilled that she is back. I am beyond thrilled she is back because she supervises with a style that not only can I learn from her but she can learn from me. I really like the fact that my supervisor is willing to teach me as well as learn from me. Not very many supervisors do that.

Now that the weekend has officially started for me I plan to just sit back really not do much. My weekend will consist of doing art work and listening to podcast. Specifically, the type of art work I will be doing is coloring. Coloring is a form of mindful meditation practice for me. While I color this weekend, I will me listening to a podcast on philosophy. The specific podcast on philosophy that I will be listening to while I color is Philosophize This. I love learning things as I create things.

I don’t have much more to say in this particular blog post except that I am so happy it is the weekend. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope you all have great weekend. Happy Friday and Peace Out, World!!!

Working From Home Today & My Cat is Helping

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday, World!!! Usually, this time of day, I am working from the offices. Well, today I am working but I am working from home. Of course, my cat, Billie Dean is helping with my work. Actually, it more like Billie giving me snuggles and lap time as I work from home.

Part of the reason why I am working from home is because I did not sleep well last night due to insomnia so I had the option of working from home. I am grateful that I have the ability to work from home today as I was able to take a couple of naps. To be honest with you all, I would rather work in the office than at home as I get more work done when I am in the office than working from home.

As challenging as it is working from home is at times, I am glad its Friday and that I can just put my work computer away. Usually, I would have to take public transportation home from the office so working from today is a good thing. I am just so tired and want to curl up and take a nap with my cat Billie.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you do read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Happy Friday and Peace Out, World!!!

Friday Eve (aka Thursday) Ramblings

Happy Friday Eve, World!!! Friday Eve is also known at Thursday or at least it is here on the West Coast of the United State of America. I am really glad that it is Thursday and that I took yesterday (Wednesday) off. As much as I love my job, today was a particularly tough day for me emotionally. The topics my clients discussed with me today, triggered some of my own issues which is to be expected from time to time.

As I write this particular blog, I am sitting in my bed with my cat, Billie Dean laying right next to me. He is purring up a storm and nudging my hand so he can be petted. I love my sweet kitty, Billie as is my best friend and gives me unconditional love.

After, I finish this particular blogs, I will be listening to a podcast on philosophy as I do some art by coloring a coloring book with some swear words in it. Actually, the podcast on philosophy I will be listening to is Philosophize This. Listening to this podcast as I do some art work by coloring, helps me learn. I am grateful for what I am learning about philosophy as I create some art work by coloring.

The weather in Seattle is becoming sucky as it is getting windy and the rain will come shortly. Windy here isn’t exactly as windy as the Santa Anna winds in California and definitely not as strong as a tornado or hurricane. So, the Seattle weather is perfection for listening to a podcast on philosophy as I do art work by coloring.

I do not have much more to talk about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader do read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Not wanting to be a Cranky Bucket at Work

Good Morning, World!!! I am unable to sleep again. I don’t think not going into work isn’t an option at the moment as the clients I have today are struggling with some minor crisis. I need to find someway to get somewhat of a better night of sleep.

One of those ways is to take a sleeping pill but sadly it makes me groggy but at least the grogginess at least goes away with time but not quick enough. I really don’t want to be a cranky bucket at work. I also don’t want to call in sick due to the lack of sleep. I really love my job. My job means the world to me.

On the plus note at least my cat has been extra lovely Dovey with me. Billie Dean is an amazing cat and I love him so much. I may have rescued him but I think he was and is the one doing the rescuing of me. Billie is really a great lap cat and helps me not be a cranky bucket when I have to start work at eight in the morning Seattle time.

I am thinking I might have to take a my sleeping meds so I can get some sleep so I am not a cranky bucket at work. I don’t have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog post. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you do read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader for reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart from reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Looking Forward to Tomorrow

Hello, World!!! I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have decided to take tomorrow (Wednesday) off. Primarily because my cat, Billie Dean, is getting blood work done from the vet. Tomorrow will be Billie’s last time going to Dr. B because the property is being sold and she sadly can’t find any affordable commercial real estate. So, Billie is getting bloodwork done so we can have more up to date readings on his kidneys. This is so his new vet will have a baseline for the kidneys so he can be treated appropriately.

On that note, I will also be volunteering at PAWS Cat City. I love being able to pick up extra volunteer shifts when I can. I know this sounds weird and/or odd but volunteering at Cat City is a form of self care for me. It’s self care for me because it gives me more purpose in my life. Yes, my work gives me purpose however volunteering gives me even more purpose to my life.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Goodnight and Peace Out, World!!!
