The Start of the 2021 Holiday Season

Happy Hanukkah, World!!! Yesterday evening (Sunday, November 28, 2021) was the start of Hanukkah. I am personally not Jewish and I enjoy the meaning of the holiday as it was a miracle. Don’t know what to say as a non Jewish person but I do know it was a miracle and wouldn’t be able to share the story of the miracle which deserves some who is more familiar to share the miracle. Happy Hanukkah to the readers who are Jewish.

Honestly, this past week has been both emotionally and physically draining for me. It was physically draining for me because deep cleaned the bathroom as I let it get really gross and disgusting. Cleaning helped me feel a since of accomplishment even though I missed my cat, Billie Dean wasn’t around to “help” me with cleaning which isn’t helpful so he went my grandpa’s as I cleaned the bathroom as well a couple of corners in my living room.

The physical stuff was due to cleaning. The emotional stuff was missing my grandma almost four years ago as well as loosing my last cat Lil Gertie two years ago which landed on Thursday, November 28, 2019 which happened to be Thanksgiving Day that year (2019). The other emotion stuff was attending a goodbye dinner for my cat’s Billie’s last vet, Dr. B. Sadly, she had to make a tough decision close forever.

Speaking of vets, Billie Dean saw his new vet today. He tolerated a couple of things and I think that is a good thing. This vet and I are going to do our best to keep Billie a healthy quality of life which is why this vet wants to see Billie twice a year. When I adopted Billie, I knew there were dental issues and upper respiratory infection (URI). So, I knew there were going to be issues. I’m happy that I made the decision to have Dr. B (Billie’s old vet) take some bloodwork done while Billie was under to get his teeth cleaned. I really miss Dr. B even though the new vet is great. Billie was not quite sure of the new vet but sure in the hell impressed with her.

In fact I partly took today off from work to take care of Billie. The other part was give me some me time. Me time was taking Billie to meet his new vet who is awesome. The other me time I have been doing is spending time with Billie while I do some art while listening to Christmas music. I think it’s okay to place Christmas music now that Thanksgiving is over.

I know there are many other holidays this time of year and hope to find the time to blog about them. I don’t want to exclude out when it comes to holidays being celebrated. I want to make sure I can learn about other religions so I can share about them when it is time to celebrate them. I will do my best to post other holidays celebrate this time of year.

I don’t have much more to say in this particular blog post. I just want to thank you for reading my blog as if you weren’t I would not be writing it. I really appreciate you the read my blog as if it wasn’t for you I would not be writing it. Again, thank you from the bottom of my hear for reading my blog. Happy Hanukkah and Peace Out, World!!!

Weekly Check-In

Good Evening, World!!! It is that time of week where I do my weekly check in. When it comes to work, work went okay. My direct supervisor is finally back from being on leave. I am sure happy she is back on leave as she is an awesome supervisor. My temporary supervisor is pretty awesome as well.

So, I took this past Wednesday off for self care. Specifically, I took it off to take Billie to get blood work done for his kidney disease. I got a call back from his vet saying his blood work is now in normal range. It is in normal range because of his kidney food diet he has been eating.

Another reason I took Wednesday off was because I wanted to volunteer at PAWS Cat City. I love volunteering at Cat City. When I volunteer there I get my kitten fix and realize how much work kittens are. As much as I love kittens I am grateful that I get my kitten fix volunteering as they are a lot of work.

As much as having a kitten would be fun, I am glad I have an adult cat. My cat Billie Dean, is an adult cat. In fact he is just around seven and a half years. But then again, Billie’s age is a guesstimate due to him being a rescue. Even though I “rescued” Billie, I feel like he was that one that rescued me.

I do not have much more to say in this particular weekly check-in post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated that you, the reader read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I wouldn’t be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

So Far a Good Day Off with A Goodbye to Dr. B

Good Late Afternoon, World!!! Overall, today has been a good day. I started off the day with having breakfast with some fabulous friends. It is always nice spending time with friends especially when they treat you to a nice meal.

I then took my cat, Billie Dean into his last appointment with Dr. B to get bloodwork done. From what I was told, Billie allowed Dr. B and crew one last belly rub as it will be their last time seeing Billie as sadly Dr. B is going out of business for various reason. I will miss her as Billie’s vet but understand why she is going out of business. On that note I just got a call from Dr. B and Billie’s kidney’s are in the normal range which means the kidney food is doing its job. On the sad note, today was a goodbye to Dr. B from me and Billie since Dr. B is going out of business. Dr. B is the sweetest and most compassionate vet ever. She is just an amazing vet and am sad she is having to go out of business so the goodbye is to Dr. B and her amazing crew.

I did do an extra volunteer shift today since I took the day off from work to take my sweet cat, Billie to the vet. I love volunteering and enjoy getting my kitten fix at PAWS Cat City. As much as I love kittens, I personally wouldn’t want to get one as they are a lot of work which is why I get my kitten fix when I volunteer at Cat City. I love all the cats at Cat City and wish I could be that “crazy cat person” but I don’t have the space nor money to have any more cats.

Now that I am home from everything I’ve done today, I have showered and ready to take it easy. I am planning on reading a book on philosophy as well as listen to a podcast on philosophy. The book I am going to be reading is “The Republic and Other Works” by Plato. I am really enjoying this book. Now as far the podcast I will be listening to is “Philosophize This.” I really enjoy listening to this podcast. I learn so much from it.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you do read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Looking Forward to Tomorrow

Hello, World!!! I am looking forward to tomorrow. I have decided to take tomorrow (Wednesday) off. Primarily because my cat, Billie Dean, is getting blood work done from the vet. Tomorrow will be Billie’s last time going to Dr. B because the property is being sold and she sadly can’t find any affordable commercial real estate. So, Billie is getting bloodwork done so we can have more up to date readings on his kidneys. This is so his new vet will have a baseline for the kidneys so he can be treated appropriately.

On that note, I will also be volunteering at PAWS Cat City. I love being able to pick up extra volunteer shifts when I can. I know this sounds weird and/or odd but volunteering at Cat City is a form of self care for me. It’s self care for me because it gives me more purpose in my life. Yes, my work gives me purpose however volunteering gives me even more purpose to my life.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Goodnight and Peace Out, World!!!

Weekly Check-In

Good Evening, World!!! I know it has been a while since I have done a weekly check-in and am going to keep doing it even if I miss a few weeks. This week has been an okay week and considering some worrying news, I am not freaking out about it.

Let’s just start off with worrying news I received. Long story short got blood work done for my cat, Billie Dean and his kidney numbers are not where they need to be. Billie’s vet, Dr. B, informed me by telling me: “Yes, it is concerning however we caught it in time. Nothing to worry about but if I weren’t a vet, I would be worried as well. You are being a great cat parent as many people wait to do bloodwork till the vet requires it. Billie is doing great and is still a lovebug.” Billie is now on a special diet for his kidney’s. I’m glad I decided to get blood work done for him when he got his teeth cleaned and followed up with a second round of bloodwork. Catching it early helps ease my mind as I know Billie is now getting the proper treatment and as stressful as it is, I am not freaking out about it.

Speaking of stress, I am taking a continuing education class in stress management. I’m not only taking to learn more about stress management to handle stress but help with my career as a peer specialist. I am learning so much in this stress management class and it is already benefitting me at work and helping me help the clients I serve.

Speaking of work, I am loving my job. I am now on the training committee and I have only been at my new job for two months. Apparently, I am doing something right even though it feel like I am not half of the time. I have also been informed that I “impressed” the clinical supervisors because of being able to use crisis de-escalation skills. I wasn’t trying to impress anyone and just being myself with getting clients out of crisis.

I don’t have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace, Out, World!!!

Update on Life the Last 24 Hours

Good Afternoon, World!!! I just want to update on life in the last twenty-four hours. First lets start off with my job interview yesterday. Overall, I think it went quite well. There were many awkward moments in the interview but went well. If I get the job, I will like the schedule for the most part. I will have to change some things with my volunteer job but it is workable. Even though the interview went well, I am not holding my breath that I will get the job. I just do not want to get my hopes up too high.

Now back to a couple of hours ago. I took my cat, Billie Dean, into the vet. Don’t worry Billie is just fine and dandy. He went to the vet to get his nails trimmed. It took longer than usual because the vet techs and vet wanted some cuddle time with Billie. The vet even took two dollars off the bill for letting her and her vet techs have cuddle time with my “love bug.” I cannot deny that Billie is a “love bug.”

Now on to a previous post in the last few days about me taking a couple of courses WordPress does for free. I signed up for the courses a couple of days ago and have assignments that I will start on tonight. I will be posting those assignments starting tomorrow. The courses I am taking our: Writing: Intro to Poetry and Photography: Developing Your Eye I. I have done both of these course before and loved them. So I am doing them again. Plus, I feel like if I do these courses again they will be of help to me to blog on the more regular basis. I want to blog on the regular basis to keep you my followers and regular readers engaged.

I do not have much more to discuss in this particular blog post. I want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has a great rest of your Thursday. Peace Out, World!!!

Meet Billie Dean

Good Evening, World!!! I wanted to let you know that I adopted a new kitty this past Thursday (February, 6th). His name is Billie Dean. He is five years old and will be six years old at the end of March. His age is just a guesstimate and the vet has agree with what the animal shelter said in regards to his age. Billie Dean is a whopping 14 pounds. He is a big boy. I am going to include pictures and add caption’s to it. I hope for those sight impaired that WordPress allows the your software to read the captions.

I love my new kitty and hope you have enjoyed meeting him. I hope to share more pictures in future post. Billie Dean also is a very talkative cat who loves to lay in your lap. Yes, I greatly miss my last cat, Lil Gertie but I am sure she was of help with adopting Billie Dean.

Thank you so much for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things. Again thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Have a wonderful Sunday evening. Peace Out, World!!!

Missing My Cat, Lil Gertie

Hello, World!!! It has been a week and one day since my cat, Lil Gertie crossed the rainbow bridge. It hasn’t been an eight days but I have received a great deal of support from my friends. I have amazing friends and have received many sympathy cards from them. Speaking of sympathy cards, Lil Gertie’s vet sent one even though she was not the vet who helped Lil Gertie cross over the rainbow bridge. She not only received an email from me but Lil Gertie’s records from the emergency vet.

I just wish it wasn’t so difficult but I am grateful she was in my life. Lil Gertie has helped me a great deal with my recovery and I am forever grateful to her for that. I will never forget her. To honor her in this post I will include one of my favorite pictures of her below. It shows how expressive she was. The picture is below:

In honor of Lil Gertie. This picture is one of my favorite and is a prime example of her many facial expressions.

Now, that I have honored my beloved cat, Lil Gertie, I am going to finish this post. I want to thank you all for reading my blog. I greatly appreciated each one of you for reading my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. Have a great Friday. Peace Out, World!!!
