Therapy + Snow = Snowball Fight With Therapist

Good Evening, World!!! It snowed last night here in Seattle and it sucks but at least I was still able to see my therapist in person. My therapist and I discussed the death of my dad and how challenging it has been to lose him so close to my mom dying. We also discussed how not just my mom’s death but my dad’s death has increased my PTSD symptoms. While discussing the increased PTSD symptom my therapist noticed that I was starting to dissociate and thought it would be a great idea to go outside to have a snowball fight to allow myself to let my inner child out. So, today’s session focused on allowing myself to let out my inner child as I had a snowball fight with my therapist.

Allowing myself to let out my inner child helped a great deal with my dissociation and my therapist saw this as we had our snowball fight. She asked me in what ways I could let my inner child out so we discussed how my cat, Billie helps. I also brought up the fact that I never stopped coloring and continued to color despite being made fun of on the occasional basis from people. Coloring has always allowed me to be me and kept me connected to my inner child even though I didn’t realize it till today.

Now that I am home, I am coloring as I watch the local news with my cat, Billie sleeping in my lap. I love the fact that I have my cat, Billie in my lap purring as I color letting out my inner child. I am so happy that I let out my inner child today in therapy and that I am doing that with coloring at home.

I do not have much more to discuss or write about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you the reader for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be continuing to write my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Sleepless In Seattle Type Of Night

Good Morning, World!!! It is a few minutes after two o’clock in the morning here in Seattle and I am sadly unable to sleep. I am unable to sleep due to PTSD and insomnia which is nothing new to me. It is literally below freezing outside and is supposed to snow in Seattle. Other cities in the area already have accumulated snow. I do not like snow and I really hope we do not get any.

Since it is so cold outside I have my heating blanket on as I really do not like turning on my heat unless I have to. On that note since it is so cold and I am unable to sleep, I am coloring as I have my heating blanket on. I have this special lap desk I can use in bed which comes in handy especially when I don’t feel like getting out of bed and want to color. I really enjoy coloring.

As I color my cat, Billie is curled up next to me snoring. I am so grateful that my cat is in my life. I do not know what I would do without my cat, Billie. I love my cat so very much and I am so very grateful for Billie’s unconditional love.

I do not have anything else to discuss or write about in this particular blog post except, I really hope it does not snow in Seattle.

It’s Snowing In Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! It is currently snowing in my neighborhood here in Seattle. It is also officially Groundhog Day here in the United States. According to news sources the groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and he is in Punxsuntawney, Pennsylvania. If he was in Seattle he would not have seen his shadow which means there wouldn’t be “six more weeks of winter.” If the Punxsutawney Phil didn’t see his shadow spring would be “early.” I am not sure how this all got started and I know it is a fun tradition but why put a poor groundhog through that especially since we all know that groundhogs can’t predict seasons much less the weather just like humans can’t.

I do not have anything else to discuss or write about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be continuing to write my blog. Weekly Check-In

Good Evening, World!!! It is Saturday evening and time to do my weekly check-in. Or at least I am starting my weekly check-in back up with you the reader. Before I do my check-in I want to say Blessed Yule and Happy Solstice. Today is the first day of winter and the shortest day of the year. I am looking forward to tomorrow as it starts being lighter longer. Granted only by a minute or two but I am so looking forward to more light.

This past week has not been the easiest of weeks for me. My depression and Complex-PTSD (C-PTSD) have been acting up so badly that I have been dissociating and isolating. Neither which are good for me or anyone for that matter. To add to the depression and PTSD, I am dealing with grief of my mom’s death on Tuesday, November 26th which was two days before Thanksgiving. Sadly, Christmas Day of this year is one day before the one month mark of my mom’s death. I miss her so very much.

Since I have been isolating this past week, I have been hanging out at home with my beloved senior kitty, Billie. Billie has been helping me so much with dissociation and not doing it. I am so grateful for my cat as he has a calming affect on me and helps me keep my head on straight.

Despite being in a dissociated state for most of the week, I do remember watching a lot of movies. Specifically, I have been watching a lot of Christmas and holiday related movies. I watch Christmas movies that are nostalgic to me and many other people in the world.

Besides watching Christmas and holiday related movies, I have been reading. I specifically have been reading a Christmas book. In fact, I read a Christmas book every holiday season. It is a holiday tradition for me and I really look forward to it every year.

I do not have anything else to check-in or write about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you the reader for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be continuing to write my blog. Daily Prompt; What Do You Complain About the Most?

Bloganuary writing prompt
What do you complain about the most?

I guess now is as good of time as any other time on what I complain about the most. I think I complain most about the cold weather especially when it gets below freezing outside like it currently is here in Seattle. I do not do well in freezing weather and really hate being cold especially when my feet are wet. I also complain a lot about wet feet and you would think I would get water proof or water resistant shoes since I live in Seattle but nope I don’t have any shoes like that at the moment. It may be below freezing outside right now but at least there is no snow on the ground in my Seattle neighborhood. Not having snow in Seattle is a good thing.

Too Cold For My Liking Especially Here In Seattle

Happy Friday and Good Morning, World!!! The snow in my neighborhood didn’t last long as it was just a dusting. Despite the dusting of snow yesterday evening I am glad I made the decision to not attend the University of Washington men’s basketball game as I would have been extremely cold as I walk to and from the light rail station. I am not a big fan of the cold and as much as I dislike the snow, if it is going to be this cold, I just wish it would just snow. I really don’t like it being in the low twenties (Fahrenheit) especially without the snow.

I have decided to not go to Emerald House today and it has nothing to do with freezing weather outside here in Seattle. It is my plan to stay home with my cat, Billie, and cuddle with him most of the day if he is up for it. I also am planning on doing some reading as I enjoy it and I have decided to read a book series as I prefer book series. I am not sure what book series it is yet but I know it is going to be a book series.

Not only will I be reading but I will be doing some art work. Specifically, I will be coloring. I will be coloring a giant poster I bought from Stuff2Color.com. The giant poster that I am coloring will be for my therapist to show her my appreciation that I have for her. Not only that, coloring is self-soothing for me as well as it being a form of mindfulness for me. I just hope my therapist likes it.

Speaking of my therapist, I have an appointment with her that I plan on attending. Thankfully, it is a virtual appointment as I really don’t want to go out in this freaking cold. Plus, some suburbs of Seattle got snow so I have no clue if my therapist got snow or not since I don’t know where she lives. In fact I think it would be weird (and creepy) to know where your therapist lives.

I do not have much more to write about in this particular blog post except I would really like rain and forty-five degrees (Fahrenheit) weather back here in Seattle. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be continuing to write my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Snowing In Seattle

Good Evening, World!!! It is snowing here in Seattle and when it snows in Seattle the city pretty much shuts down. It shuts down because we are a bunch of whiny ass wimps that live in the second hilliest city in the United States that is never really prepared for snow due to the lack of equipment such as snow plows.

Due to the snow I have decided to not go to the University of Washington men’s basketball game. It is mainly due to the fact that the sidewalks are already icy and will need to walk to and from the light rail. I just fear it would be way too icy after the basketball game and I don’t want to risk possible injury. Like I said people who live in Seattle are wimps when it comes to snow and ice.

Since I am staying home, I am going to be doing art with Billie my cat by my side. The type of art I am doing is coloring. I am coloring a giant poster for my therapist as it is helpful for me and it shows my appreciation for her.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post except that I really dislike snow. I really would like to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be continuing to write my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

A Blustery Winter Post From Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! It is that time of year where you never know what the weather is going to be here in Seattle. Well, I am partly wrong on that as most of the time it is usually dark, dreary, damp, wet and rainy. On that note, there are the occasional wind storms and sometimes snow. According to the weather report there are supposed to be strong winds today. In fact the view from my window proves this to be true as the trees are moving due to wind.

Despite the current windy and wet weather, various news reports are reporting that Seattle is supposed to have snow at the end of the week. Seattle shuts down when it snows. Part of the reason is many folks in Seattle don’t really know how to deal with which includes me especially since I spent the first sixteen years of my life in Southern California. The other reason is the lack of things such as snow plows and the fact that Seattle is the second hilliest city in the United States. (The hilliest city in the United States is San Francisco.) Snow is pretty to look at but I am not a huge fan of it due to the fact that I do not like the cold.

Even though there is a threat of snow at the end of this week, I at least know that if it does that I will have therapy on Friday as my session is virtual due to the fact my therapist works from home on Fridays. My therapist and I are working on skills to help with the Depression and PTSD symptoms I deal with especially how intense the symptoms are this time of year. Winter is a really challenging time of year for me in regards to increased Depression and PTSD symptoms which is why my therapist and I work on skills to help me through tough moments.

I do not have much else to write about in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Everyday Inspiration; Day 6: A Place to Write

It’s hard to choose where to write as weather in Seattle can be not very predictable. Usually in the summer on a nice day I write outside. When It iis autumn and spring it alll depends if the weather is stormy outside then I write in the living room. As far as the winter goes its too cold and raining so I writing inside my living room. That’s all I have to say.

Billie the Cat Wasn’t Amused

Happy Holidays, World!!! This is my cat, Billie Dean. Also known as Billie the Cat. The above pictures are of my cat, Billie who has some reindeer antlers on. For those who are visually impaired, may not be able to see Billie’s facial expression and just wanted to tell you that his face clearly states that he is not amused. I did put captions with what I thought he was thinking. I love my cat so much. Anyway, I thought I would share the pictures to help spread the holiday cheers.

Before ending this post, I want to wish you all a happy holiday season. I also want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you do read my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Happy Holidays and Peace Out, World!!!
