Woo Hoo, 300 Followers

I now I have 300 followers. It has taken nearly four years to get to this many followers and I am okay with that. Over the last four years of blogging I have realized that my followers and regular readers are loyal. If it wasn’t for you my reader, I wouldn’t have a blog. Thank you so much for the follows. Have a great day, World!!!

Everyday Inspiration; Day 6: The Space to Write

For me the space to write varies on my mood and what I am doing. When it comes to writing for my blog, I tend write in my living room or a mom and pop coffee shop drinking hot chocolate. Writing for my blog has come easy to me as of lately but that is because I have made a habit of it. Some would say I am blogging too much and maybe they are right but I like to keep you guys updated. Writing for my blog helps with my recovery as well.

Getting Through a Rough Moment

Hello, World!!! I am having a rough moment. A moment that that I know will pass but it feels like it is taking forever and a day to do so. One way I’ll get through this moment is to read. As you know if you read my blog regularly, reading has been one of my go to coping skills lately.

Another coping skill I’ll do and haven’t done in a while is bake. I am pretty sure I will be baking brownies. Baking is something I love doing and am thrilled that I have the items to do. I am choosing brownies because I am wanting chocolate.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

A Lazy Saturday

Good Evening, World!!! As I write this I am listening to Philosophize This, a podcast on philosophy. I am really enjoying this podcast. I, recently started listening to podcast and this is one that I have started. I decided to start listening to the first one and work my way up to the most current one. I figure if I listen to two to three a day I can get to the most current one by the end of the year.

Besides listening to podcast on philosophy, I’ve been working on my workbooks. Specifically, I have been working on my mindfulness workbook. For me being able to focus on mindfulness has been quite helpful for my recovery process.

Since we are on the topic of mindfulness, I also journaled in my guided journal that focuses on mindfulness. Today’s entry was about mindfulness reminders. So, I got a bunch of sticky notes to remind me to do mindfulness practices.

I have also been focusing a great deal on art today. I have been painting as I listened to podcast. I have also been doing some coloring. For me art is a type of mindfulness practice. It also helps me with expressing my emotions.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

A Relaxing Saturday

Good Afternoon, World!!! I have been having a relaxing Saturday. I have been watching movies pretty much all day. Movies on Netflix and Hulu. Movies that helped me get into a creative space.

A creative space to be able to paint. I painted while listening to music. I attempted to paint a squirrel. It didn’t turn out as planned but that is okay because the paintings that didn’t turn out as planned are the most original and unique paintings out there. The music playing the background is what helped me keep with the flow of painting.

Now I am going to go take a nap as I am tired. I have only had three hours of sleep in the last two days . Have a great rest of your Saturday. Peace Out, World!!!

Got Sleep?!?!

Good Morning, World!!! Right now I am dealing with a major case of insomnia. Insomnia that meds won’t even work for. I took my Ambien right after my last post and well here I am still wide awake. Normally, taking the Ambien works but apparently it is not working tonight and it is frustrating as hell.

As frustrating as it is to not sleep at least I have been able to use my coping skills. Coping skills to help me through the night. The coping skills that I have been doing are art and reading. I have been painting as well as reading The Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb. At least my coping skills have been helpful to me tonight.

Thank you for reading. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. Peace Out, World!!!

Nothing But Just a Bunch of Ramblings

Good Afternoon, World!!! As I sit here at my laptop, I am worried about my tax refund. I am worried why it hasn’t been approved yet. I know the IRS is busy right now with all the procrastinators but still I would like to know if my refund got approved. I guess I am just worried about the money aspect right now.

I am getting excited about the work shop I will be attending in a couple of hours. I am happy that I was invited to this workshop via private email. A friend invited me to attend it. It is about the implementation of recovery and peer services, to make sure they are going the way the county wants it to go.

I am not only have lunch with the friend who invited me to the workshop today but I am having dinner with another friend. A friend I have known for nearly 23 years. It is always good to spend time with people. People who care about you.

I have been working on two of my workbooks today. I am feeling slightly accomplished that I have been able to do so. Working on the workbooks has be quite beneficial to me and my recovery. Being able to help myself is an amazing feeling.

Thank you for reading. I hope to blog again this evening. Specifically about the workshop I attended. Have a wonderful weekend. Happy Friday. Peace Out, World!!!

Friday Plans

Good Morning, World!!! Happy Friday to all of you. Today, is going a day of learning and growing for me or at least that is what my plan is. Plans that include things I oddly enjoy doing.

First and fore most one of the things I am planning on doing today is listen to educational podcast. Specifically, a podcast on philosophy called Philosophize This. I have fallen in love with this podcast for many reasons. One reason is I am learning things that I never learned in school.

Another thing I am going to be doing today is to work on one of my workbooks. I am not sure which one yet or even if I am going to work on multiple workbooks. I do workbooks  to help myself with my recovery. In fact I think the workbooks have helped me improve my ability to be more self aware.

Later on today I am going to a workshop on the implantation of recovery services in the county I live in. I am looking forward to it and have been since I heard about it last week. One of the folks putting it on is a friend of mine. A friend of mine that will be buying me a “late lunch.” I am not only looking forward to this workshop because of seeing my friend and getting food but I am able to help implement recovery services or at least have a say in it.

Thanks for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Mr. Sandman, Where Are You

Hello, World!!! I am having trouble sleeping once again. I am getting slightly frustrated with not being able to sleep. I am partly blaming the no sleep yet on PTSD because my symptoms are acting up.

Something that helps me with my PTSD symptoms is reading. Something I have been doing most of the night as it is one thing that has been tonight. Reading doesn’t take away the symptoms but it helps me forget them after they appear even for a brief moment.

I think I’ll get back to reading. Have a goodnight. Peace Out, World!!!
