A Workplace Post

Good Morning, World!!! As I type this post, I am at work. I am bored half out of my mind and freezing but at least I have someone to keep me company as the shelter guest sleep. I am an On-Call Shelter Counselor at a young adult shelter here in Seattle and love my job for the most part. I really don’t like being on-call but hey, its a job. As I mentioned earlier I have someone to keep me company as I am training someone. I didn’t know I was training this person till I arrived to work. I am just shocked that my supervisor is having me train the new person as I am only an on-call person and don’t work very often. In fact the last time I took a shift was back in late November. The new person appears to be cool and has connected well with some of the shelter guest which is awesome.

In all honesty I would rather be at home in my own bed asleep at the moment. I am not tired at this moment in time as I slept really well during the day on Sunday as I knew I had to work a shift. I just don’t like when my sleep schedule gets all fucked up as I already have trouble sleeping.

Another reason why I was at home is primarily because of the weather. It is currently snowing in Seattle. I highly dislike the snow. I am not sure why but I have a few idea but won’t share them with you as I do not want to bore you. I not only don’t like the snow, I don’t like the cold weather. It is suppose to get windy and heavier snow later today (Monday) which sucks shit.

As much as I don’t like the news about windy, snowy weather for today (Monday), I am looking forward to hopefully hearing back from my employment specialist and/or the hiring manager of the peer job I applied for to see if I get an interview in the next week or two. I say this because I want and need a job that has a more stable schedule. Having a job that is only on-call sucks but I am grateful to have a job.

I do not have much more to say in this particular post. I hope to post later on today when I am off work and well rested after working a twelve hour shift at night. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

Tuesday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! Well, there is still snow on the ground here in Spokane where my grandma’s funeral was held. News sources say it is suppose to be snowing at sea level in Seattle which will be a shit show for me and my family going back to Seattle.

Despite the possibility of snow I am looking forward to going home. There is nothing like being in your own home. I miss my bed.

Weekly Check-In

Good Evening, World!!! This is a difficult as I am typing with a broken hand. I broke my hand by punching brick wall. Never punch a brick wall as you will always loose to the brick wall. I have learned my lesson to use my skills instead of harming myself.

I didn’t go to my volunteer job because of dealing with the grief of my grandma’s death. I think that is why I got so angry. Angry that my grandma passed away. I wish my grandma didn’t die. I miss her so much.

Not much happened this week. Just dealing with the grief of my grandma and helping plan her funeral for Monday. Oh yeah Seattle got some snow and it has been frigid cold here as well.

Snowing In Seattle, Again

Good Evening, World!!! It’s snowing again in Seattle. The weatherman inform people that it’s “not currently snowing in Seattle.” Well, I am sorry to say but it is snowing in my neighborhood and I live in Seattle.

Despite it snowing, I went and saw Gilbert earlier today. We discussed my grief with my grandma and her funeral on Monday. We also discussed the symptoms of my PTSD, Anxiety and Depression as well as what I can do to keep myself safe if self-harm urges are to appear. (NO, I don’t have urges to self harm nor am I suicidal.) We came up with a safety plan as a precaution as I’m going to be spending a great deal of time with my family. Don’t get me wrong I love my family, they just know how to get under my skin and vise versa.

Speaking of family, I want to call my grandpa. Have a great weekend and Peace Out, World!!!

No Sleep in Snowy, Sunny Seattle

IMG_0284.JPGGood Morning, World!!! It is a sunny day in Seattle with snow on the ground. As you can tell from the picture above the sun is starting to come up. I just wanted to show you snow in Seattle when it is light outside.

I didn’t get any sleep last night and hope I can be able to take a nap at some point today. I also need to do some household chores. Chores I don’t really want to do but need to be done.

Sleepless in Snowy Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! I am unable to sleep however I am enjoying watching the snow fall. It is rare when it snows in Seattle so it is both exciting and annoying. Exciting because it is beautiful and not a common occurrence in Seattle. It is an annoyance because nobody really knows how to drive in snow here in Seattle counting myself. But then again I don’t have a car and take public transportation.

Besides watching the snow fall, I am watching the Winter Olympics. I am loving the fact that the Olympics are on as they have been quite helpful for me get through some rough moments as well as some sleepless nights like tonight.

Snowing In Seattle

IMG_0281Hello, World!!! As you can tell with the above picture, snow is falling in Seattle. Snow is pretty and cool just as long as you don’t have to go out in it unless it is for fun. I have mixed emotions regarding snow but right now, I am going to live in the present and enjoy it.

One way I’ll enjoy this weather is by drinking hot coco and reading Wonder Woman comic books. There is nothing like wearing comfy pajama’s and reading comics while drinking hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night.

Snowy Sunday in Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! As I stated in an earlier post, its snowing in Seattle. It’s not snowing now but there is snow on the ground. It made this morning that much more special with Junior. Junior worked for 48hours straight as he is firefighter and snow just helped with the romantic part of the morning.

When he got off from work he came over to my place with breakfast ready to eat. I made us French toast, scrambled eggs and chocolate milk. After breakfast we cuddled up to watch a movie. A movie that we didn’t watch as we ended up making love. We had some serious and enjoyable sex for roughly two hours. Something we both needed. That contact was helpful for the both of us.

Something the Junior and I are doing later on today is spending time with my family. This is going to be the first time my family has spent time with each after my grandma’s death. We are going to go out to eat however I am not sure where yet.

I think I am going to get going as I want to spend more time with Junior. I’m really needing some cuddle time with him. He is an amazing man. Thank you for reading. It’s appreciated. Peace Out, World!!!

Still Sleepless in Snowy Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! I am still sleepless in Seattle. On the plus note I get to see the snow falling without worrying about needing to go out into it. Or at least not to later on. It is three o’clock in the morning and I don’t have to go out into till eleven o’clock in the morning when I go spend time with family. Snow in Seattle doesn’t happen all to often. We did have a White Christmas which is always a good thing. I am not a big fan of snow but I can’t deny that it’s not pretty because it is beautiful especially when you don’t have to go out into it.

Something I have been doing besides watching the snow fall is reading. I have been reading Wonder Woman comic books. I love being able to curl up with a few comic books, drinking hot chocolate on a cold winters morning. Yes, it’s the middle of the night morning but it’s still morning.

Another thing I have been doing is doing a Wonder Woman jigsaw puzzle. I love puzzles. this puzzle is one thousand pieces and quite challenging. Maybe when I finish with it, I will take a picture of it and post it.

Merry Christmas!!!

Merry Christmas, World!!! As I sit here at my laptop in my hotel room I realize that as difficult as Christmas is, I am extremely lucky to have a good support system. A support system to help me through some tough shit. A support system that not only helps me with shit but with having a challenging family.

Dealing with a difficult family is not an easy thing to handle especially around the holidays.  As I start my day, I am mentally preparing myself for than challenges I will be dealing with today. Thankfully, I will have Junior to help me deal with my family.

It’s not just my family that Junior will be helping me with today. He will be helping me with the challenges of dealing with the trauma of my past. Trauma that happened to me as child at Christmas time.

As difficult as my childhood was during the holidays, having snow on the ground on Christmas Day seems to fulfill a childlike space in my heart. I may not like snow but there is something special about snow on Christmas. In fact having a White Christmas in the Seattle area isn’t all that common which is why it’s something special.
