Everyday Inspiration; Day 13: Play with Word Count

Today’s assignment is to play with word count. I don’t have an exact number I want to have in regards to writing as I feel like it is limiting to me as writer. Yes, I realize if I ever write a memoir of my life, that I would have to limit the amount I have to say.

On that note, my grandma’s funeral is coming up in a few days and will be speaking at it. I don’t like speaking in crowds but this is something my grandma would want me to do. I know she would be proud of me when I do as she is aware of my fear of public speaking.

Thank you for reading. I think I need to write what I’m going to say at my grandma’s funeral. Have a wonderful weekend. Peace Out, World!!!

Recovery Ramblings

Good Evening, World!!! It has been an uneventful day for me and right now that is a good thing. It’s a good thing because recent events regarding an assault I experienced and the death of my grandma.

I have been doing one of my workbooks for most of the day. The workbook I have been doing is The Queer & Transgender Resilience Workbook. I have been finding it quite helpful for me not just in regards to my gender identity and sexual orientation but my recovery as well.

In fact realizing my gender identity and sexual orientation is apart of my recovery. Something that Junior is proud of me for acknowledging as well as accepting me as I am and loving me. I consider myself as a gender fluid, non-binary, pansexual individual and Junior loves me as I am.

I have also been doing another workbook called The Mindfulness Workbook to help me keep up my mindfulness practice’s. I have been finding this helpful with my recovery as well as my everyday life. It’s been quite helpful in ways I never thought were possible. It has been helping me be more mindful of the present moment.

Speaking of being mindful of the present moment, I realize I am hungry and need to eat. Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World.

Sleepless in Snowy Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! I am unable to sleep however I am enjoying watching the snow fall. It is rare when it snows in Seattle so it is both exciting and annoying. Exciting because it is beautiful and not a common occurrence in Seattle. It is an annoyance because nobody really knows how to drive in snow here in Seattle counting myself. But then again I don’t have a car and take public transportation.

Besides watching the snow fall, I am watching the Winter Olympics. I am loving the fact that the Olympics are on as they have been quite helpful for me get through some rough moments as well as some sleepless nights like tonight.

I am get going and watch the snow fall as well as the Olympics. Thanks for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Snowing In Seattle

IMG_0281Hello, World!!! As you can tell with the above picture, snow is falling in Seattle. Snow is pretty and cool just as long as you don’t have to go out in it unless it is for fun. I have mixed emotions regarding snow but right now, I am going to live in the present and enjoy it.

One way I’ll enjoy this weather is by drinking hot coco and reading Wonder Woman comic books. There is nothing like wearing comfy pajama’s and reading comics while drinking hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night.

Well, I want to get going to enjoy my comics and hot chocolate. Thank you for reading. Have a great night. Peace Out, World!!!

Tough Moment

Hello, World!!! I am having a tough moment. A moment that has been due to PTSD and Anxiety with some Depression. A moment that Junior is helping me through. A moment that mindfulness and meditation practice has helped me.

As I have a tough moment I realize that as rough it is right now, I am doing better than I was doing early in January. I think I am doing better than I was because I don’t want to go back to where I was when I first made a decision to be in active recovery. I want to be where I was when I was doing well and working fulltime as a Peer Support Specialist.

Thank you for reading as I think its time to settle in for the night. Have a goodnight and don’t let the bedbugs bite. Peace Out, World!!!.

Sunday Evening Ramblings

Hello, World!!! It’s been a good Sunday with a few bumps in the road and I am okay with the bumps in the road. Bumps in the road that I know I can get through with the help of my DBT skills and support of others.

People like Junior. Junior has be quite supportive of me for years and today was just one such day I appreciated his support and love. I also appreciate the intimate love making moments we had today as well. Moments that neither one of us take for granted because of the year I had, my sexual drive was pretty non-existent due to the symptoms of my mental health conditions. Junior has been one very patient man.

Something that I have realized that has helped me are the workbooks I have been doing. Today, I have been working on my workbook on resiliency and my gender identity. Something Junior supports and loves most about me.

Thank you for reading as I want to do my workbook and spend quality time with Junior. Thanks!!! Peace Out, World!!!

Everyday Inspiration; Day 7: Let Social Media Inspire You

Today’s assignment is to let social media inspire me. They gave some tweets we could use but I’m going to use social media as whole as my inspiration. I say this because social media can play a role in people mental health and well my blog is a mental health blog. I feel like if I don’t discuss how social media can affect one’s mental health then I would be doing my readers a disservice.

One can argue that social media could be helpful and it is. One can also say that social media is not helpful which is also true. I know from my experience it is combination of both. I just have to be watchful of my time on social media including me blogging. So, I guess what I am saying about mental health and social media is watch how it affects you.

Saturday Night Ramblings

Hello, World!!! It is 11:09 at night in my corner of the world. I have been watching the Olympics quite faithfully this time around. I am finding that watching the Olympics has been helping me with the loss of my grandma. I really miss her.

I’ve also been doing some mindfulness and meditation practices today. I am feeling some peace whenever I do a mindfulness practice. I have come to the conclusion that mindfulness and meditation is helpful for my recovery.

My recovery means the world to me and whatever I find helpful for it, is something I will continue to do. If you are person in recovery, I encourage you to find things that are helpful for you and your recovery.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Saturday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! As I sit here at my laptop thinking about the sleep I got. Not the amount of sleep but the quality of sleep. I woke up this morning with drool on the Wonder Woman comic book I was reading last night. I fell asleep reading it and ended up getting good quality of sleep despite only get three hours of it.

Something I did last night besides reading and sleeping was watch the Olympics. For me watching the Olympics is helping me hold on to the hope that I finally got back when I was on an inpatient unit back in January. The Olympics not only brings hope to the world but brings it together like nothing else in the world.

I think I am going to get going. Thank you so much for reading. It is greatly appreciated from my end. Happy Weekend. Peace Out, World!!!

Everyday Inspiration; Day 5: Hook ‘Em With a Quote

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. - Eleanor Roosevelt

The above quote by Eleanor Roosevelt “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams” hits close to home for me. It hits close to home because I am in the process of believing that my dreams will come true. Dreams that will come true with hope and determination. Determination that has helped with my recovery process will help me with my dreams and future.

A future that includes me having a college education that allows me to move up the career ladder. One that will allow me to be much more than a Peer Specialist. One that will allow me to be a Case Manager and/or Therapist. This is why I believe in my dreams. Dreams that I know will come true even if it takes me longer than the average person.
