Late Evening Ramblings

Good Evening, World!!! I sit here at my laptop attempting on what I should do next with my evening. I have already ate, taken a shower and am in my pajama’s ready to relax for the night. Not sure what I am going to do except watch the news. News that always seems to be so negative.

I have had a pretty good day.  Having structure in my life is always a good thing for me. As difficult as therapy was for me today it was a good session. As I mentioned in an earlier post we discussed what I could do differently to not attempt to take my own life. One of those things is having my cat, Lil Gertie around. Another thing is to attend groups to help with the structure part of my life that I need.

I think I am going to work on one of my workbooks. The one that is strengths based. The one that I am on the topic of courage. Courage is a difficult topic for me and I have no clue what. It is something to talk to my therapist about.

Life is good. I think I am going to go for a walk now. Have a great evening. Peace Out, World!!!

Bored In Day Treatment

Good Morning, World!!! I am bored half out of my mind in day treatment. I am attending day treatment as I wait for my appointment with my therapist. There is not really much to do. So, I decided to use one of the computers to blog.

Besides blogging I have been working on one of workbooks. The one that is strengths based and recovery focused. Right now I am working on courage. I don’t know about the courage thing as I do what is needed to be done to help others and my recovery.

I am missing my cat dearly right now. I am wondering what she is doing at this present moment. She is most likely taking a cat nap like she does this time of day. Either that or she is getting into shit she is not suppose to be getting into.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! I haven’t gotten any sleep and I am okay with that as I was able to spend quality time with Lil Gertie. As tired as I am, I am grateful for the time I had with Lil Gertie. She is an awesome lil kitty.

When I wasn’t spending time with Lil Gertie, I was doing one of my workbooks. Specifically, I was working on my Pathways to Recovery workbook. It looks at mental health recovery as a whole and how we can develop our strengths as well as some skill to be in recovery.

If you been reading my blog on the regular basis you know that my recovery means the world to me. I do workbooks to help me along my recovery process. I am not doing the workbooks to replace therapy, I am doing them in addition to therapy.

Since we are now on the topic of therapy, I am seeing my therapist today. I am seeing him for our new scheduled time for Thursdays at eleven in the morning. He is really cool and encourages me to build my support system by getting out of my box.

Something that has been helping me that last few days is scrap booking. I’m really enjoying doing it as it gives me something to do. It also gives me something to look at during the process of making it as well as when I am finished with it. When I look at it, it is helpful by giving me hope. Hope by helping me remember the good things in my life.

I think I am going to get going. I am going to watch the news and get ready for the day ahead. I hope everyone has a good day. Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Busy Lil Bee Being In Recovery

Good Morning, World!!! I haven’t been back to sleep since my last post. I have been busy since my last post. I read a little bit. I read about Buddhism. If you regularly read my blog you know I have been looking into Buddhism. I am looking into it as I haven’t really been searching spiritual wise the last couple of years. Spirituality is a part of being in recovery. Being in recovery is something I have aspired to be and have been for quite some time. Yes, I have had bumps in the road. Yes, I have fallen however I have picked myself up and wiped myself off.

Being in recovery means doing things that are difficult. For me doing workbooks is quite challenging for me as it pushes me to aspire to be the person I am meant to be. This morning, I have chosen to work on the workbook that focuses me being queer and resilient. Being able to push myself with my gender identity, queerness and resiliency goes right along with my values in my personal recovery path with mental health challenges.

Being in recovery is a major deal for me. I was informed that I would never be in recovery from a mental health condition because my symptoms were so severe. Never tell me I can’t do something because I end up proving you wrong with being able to do it.

Thank you for reading. Have a nice Wednesday. Peace Out, World!!!

Nothing But Random Thoughts

Good Afternoon, World!!! I know it is Memorial Day here in the United States however I found out today that I have a job interview tomorrow for a Peer Specialist position at my previous employer. It is for their Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program. I am looking forward to it.

I have been scrap booking most of the day. I have fun doing it. I am looking forward to showing it to my therapist. My therapist enjoys the fact that I do creative stuff like scrap booking. Although I am pretty sure he is unaware that I scrap book because I have never informed him nor do I think it was documented in therapeutic notes.

I also been working on my strengths based recovery workbook today. The topic I am working on is courage and hope. It is discussing how having an attitude of hope and courage can help one on their recovery process.

Having things to do helps. It helps with the symptoms of my mental health conditions. Keeping busy is what helps reduce my symptoms.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Sleepless in Seattle, Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! I am unable to sleep at the moment and it has nothing to do with my cat and every thing to deal with the symptoms of my mental health challenges. Dealing with a mental health condition is not my idea of fun yet I have learned a great deal from them. I have learned that acceptance of oneself is not easy however you can still have fun despite all the challenges the conditions bring.

For an example; painting can be fun. I love to paint. I am painting an abstract version of my cat for my grandpa per his request. My grandpa loves the idea that I am painting. He thinks it is a great way to express myself in a healthy and productive way.

Something else that being in recovery brings to me is faith. Or at least searching for a particular faith. Right now I have been reading books on Buddhism. It has given me some hope and peace that I have been looking for. Some people in my life may not like the idea that I am looking into Buddhism but they are grateful that I am searching for some type of faith even if it is not their faith.

I have been working on my strengths based recovery workbook. That part that I am working on is about attitudes. That attitudes that it is discussing at the moment is hope and courage. I am thrilled that I decided to get this workbook as I have been finding it quite helpful to me as well as to my recovery.

I find it amazing that being able to write in the middle of the night can come easy to me. Maybe it is because I am naturally a night owl or that I am more creative at night. Whatever the reason, I am glad that I can express myself in a healthy way. A way that my old therapist, Diana, would be proud of me.

Thank you for reading. Have a great morning and Peace Out, World!!!

Friday Morning Random Thoughts

Good Morning, World!!! I am still depressed but I am making plans for the day. Plans that will help me get out of my own head. Getting out of my own today will be a good thing as my depression is acting up slightly at the moment.

One of the things I plan on doing is reading. I, of course will be reading my Star Wars book. I am immensely enjoying the Star Wars book. I am looking forward to what the next book in this trilogy of the Star Wars book.

Like I mentioned in my last post my therapist is taking a vacation day so his supervisor is going to be doing my check-in with me today. She is an extremely nice person. In fact she likes that I idea that I have a check in on Fridays and Mondays about my weekend plans and how those plans went.

I think I am also going to be doing my workbooks. Specifically, my recovery workbook that focuses on strengths and recovery. Recover from a mental health challenge. I know I have recovered from one as it is only one of hand full you can recover from but I believe with my other diagnosis I can have the symptoms subside to where I can say I am recovered for me.

Some sad news now. There has been yet another school shooting. This time in Texas. They are are saying that an “unconfirmed eight people are dead.” Why do these shootings keep happening? This is why we need gun control in this country.

Thank you for reading, Have a wonderful day. Peace Out, World!!!

Focusing On Things That Help

Good Evening, World. Since my last post I decided to work on one of my workbooks;  Pathways to Recovery. It is a strengths based workbook focusing on your recovery. I am now done with the first chapter.

I also have been reading Buddhist Scriptures. Reading about Buddhism is a form of mindfulness for me. It gives me hope and a sense of peace. Finding faith that potentially will help me with my recovery path is a huge deal.

As I am writing this post I am sipping on some tea and enjoying some scented candles. Doing things like lit candles and sipping tea is extremely soothing for me. Being able to soothing myself is a good thing. I feel like I don’t deserve to self soothe.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!
