A Lazy Three Day Weekend at Home

Happy Friday, World!!! It’s a three day weekend here in the states. Martin Luther King Jr. day on Monday to honor him. I wish I had been alive to see him speak as he was a great and honorable man fighting for right of people of color.

On that note I plan on having a lazy three day weekend at home with my cat, Billie Dean. I love my Billie so much and he is such a love bug. I plan on doing a lot of lazy type things. One of the things I plan on doing is watching movies and television show via streaming sites. I’m pretty sure Billie will be in my lap when I do these activities.

I also plan on doing some art. Specifically, I plan on coloring. I plan on coloring as listen to a podcast. In fact I plan on listening to a podcast about philosophy. The philosophy podcast I plan on listening to is “Philosophize This.” I really enjoy listening to a podcast as I do something creative or clean but I don’t plan on cleaning this weekend as I am still dealing with Covid-19.

Dealing with Covid-19 sucks shit. I still feel like crap but I am feeling much better than I did when I was diagnosed with Coivid-19. As shitty as having Coivd-19 is I am grateful that I wasn’t hospitalized for it. I’m still coughing up a storm and feeling fatigue with brain fog. I also still have some loose bowl movements but at least they are becoming more solid. I’m sure you didn’t want to know about my bowl movements.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want thank you for reading my blog. If it wasn’t for you reading my blog I would not be writing it. That is why I greatly appreciate you the reader, reading my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Peace Out, World!!!

First Day of Vacation

Happy Holidays, World!!! Today is my first day of vacation. I have today and the next ten days off from work. I love my job with a passion. I just need a break especially since I have a challenging time during the holiday season.

Today, is just a day to relax and enjoy being home with my cat, Billie Dean. I have packed to go to my mom’s tomorrow (Christmas Eve) evening after celebrating Christmas with my dad’s side of the family. Only thing left to pack up is Billie’s stuff as he will be staying at my grandpa’s when I am visiting my mom in Olympia. I will wait till tomorrow to do it as it is mainly his food and dishes as he already has the other stuff at my grandpa’s. I plan on watching movies and television the rest of the day.

I don’t have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader, read my blog. If it was not for you the reader, reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Happy Holidays and Peace Out, World!!!

Weekly Check-In

Good Evening, World!!! I have decide to start my weekly check-in again here on my blog. I have decided to do this again so I can be able to keep you my reader engaged in reading my blog. I realize a weekly check-in may not keep my readers engaged but at least it is something that will be posted every Saturday to let readers know I am still around. I am also going be doing Weekly Plans on Sundays for the same reason.

This week flew by quicker than I thought it would especially since it was one of those weeks a work. I love my job and being able to help people along their path of mental health recovery. It is nice to see people grow into the person they want to be.

As far as my volunteer job goes, it is going well. I now have other volunteers on my shift. Right now it is only one and they just became a volunteer. It is nice that things are getting back to normal although I fear what is going with the new Covid-19 variant. I enjoy my volunteer job at PAWS Cat City.

I’ve been pretty much doing a movie marathon this weekend. Every Friday the 13th weekend I do a movie marathon by watching the movie Friday the 13th. Yes, I know it sounds cheesy and that the movies are corny but it was something I started doing at the beginning of my mental health recovery and surprisingly still do it as I enjoy it.

I don’t have much more to say in my Weekly Check-In. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, I wouldn’t be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope the rest of your weekend is enjoyable. Peace Out, World!!!

A Friday the 13th Post

Happy Friday the 13th, World!!! It is the start of another weekend for me and it happens to be Friday the 13th. I really like Friday the 13th for some reason. I am not sure why but I do. Maybe it is because people think it is a day of bad luck when it is not.

I am glad to be home from work. It has been a long week at work. It has also been a good week at work. Today, work went by fast and I am thrilled about that. I am also thrilled that I went into the office today since the office has air conditioning and my air conditioning isn’t set up yet.

It is a hot day in Seattle today. Not as hot as it was back in June but hot enough to be some place with an air conditioner. This summer has reminded me a great deal about my childhood in California due to the heat and the not so lovely smog. I miss certain things about California and smog is not one of the things I miss. Living in Washington (State) has its advantages and one of those advantages is not dealing with smog. Sadly, smog is starting to be a common thing during the summer here.

Despite it being nice and warm here in Seattle, I am going to stay inside most of the weekend. The reason being is because whenever there is a Friday the 13th, I do a movie marathon of watching all twelve Friday the 13th movies. Yes, I now that is weird but it is something I have done for my mental health recovery that happens two to three times a year but doesn’t happen too often and is something to look forward to. I know the movies are corny and old school but that’s what makes it special.

As I spend the weekend watching Friday the 13th movies, that means I will be spending it with my cat, Billie Dean. I am looking forward to watching movies with my cat, Billie. When I was a teenager and twenty something, I never thought a weekend at home watching movies with my cat would be fun or relaxing. Oh how things change as weekends at home is always a good thing.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. If it was not for you my reader, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you very much from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has a good Friday the 13th. Peace Out, World!!!

Been Exposed & Under Self Quarantine

Good Morning, World!!! It has been a few weeks since I last blogged. There are multiple reasons why I have blogged as well as many excuses but neither the reason or excuse really matter at this moment in time. Or at least they don’t matter to me at the moment.

A lot has happened in the last week alone. I found out last Thursday (July 16th) that I was exposed to Covid-19 the last time I worked which was on Saturday, July 11th. A client of the homeless shelter I work at test positive and am grateful that this person is now at a quarantine site here in the Seattle area.

Anyway since I was exposed, I am under self quarantine and am getting tested later on today (Monday). I made the appointment to get tested right after finding out I was exposed. Another good thing regarding all this is that I had already had a virtual appointment with my doctor made for this past Friday (July 17th) which made it easy for me to talk to my doctor about what to expect regarding the test. She also informed me that she didn’t want me to go work on Saturday (July 18th) till I get tested and the results come back as negative. I informed her that my employer was being very insistent with me going into work to do my regular shift. She and I discussed that if I get fired over going against doctors orders in the midst of a pandemic will make my employer “look bad and is grounds for a lawsuit.” I am just grateful that she has my back and wrote me a note for work. She also advised me to self quarantine which is a no brainer.

Since I am under quarantine till I get tested and the results, I will be spending a lot of time at home. At least I will have my cat, Billie Dean with me. I am so happy that I have Billie especially right now. My doctor and I came up with a plan on things I can do to make sure my mental health doesn’t decline while in self quarantine. We discussed a great deal about my cat Billie Dean and how he will be helpful. I told my doctor that I have plenty of art projects I can do especially in the coloring and collaging genres. I also informed her that I have a lot of reading to catch up on. This brought up the topic of our love of reading and the books I am hoping to read. I also mentioned that I have movies I want to watch and she even suggested some that I might be interested in. We discussed music as well. Specifically we discussed me not playing my flute or harmonica just in case I am positive. This will be challenging for me to do as playing one of my musical instruments especially my flute has been a life saver for me when things get challenging for me. We did discuss that listening to music is an option and will be used. We also discussed me keeping in touch with my therapist and that she will reach out to my therapist and I informed her that I already did which she wasn’t surprised about.

Anyway, my therapist to get back to me this past Friday after talking with my doctor. He was grateful that she and I, both reached out to him regarding me being exposed. We basically discussed similar things my doctor and I talked about regarding keeping myself busy. The last thing he and my doctor want is my mental health to decline while in self quarantine and I don’t blame them. I am worried as well. I am also grateful that we will be doing daily check-ins till I get my test results back. If they come back negative then the daily check-ins will discontinue and I hope my test results will come back negative.

Anyway, I don’t have much more to say. Thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. I hope everyone has a great Monday ahead. Peace Out, World!!!

Mr. Sandman Never Showed Up

Good Morning, World!!! Apparently, the sandman forgot to stop by my place as I have not been able to sleep. I have been up all night and am grateful for my cat, Billie Dean’s company. Billie has been awesome company since I adopted him in February especially on sleepless night like last night.

Since my last post I watched movies. The movies I watched were under the genre of comedy as I know that humor works great to help me relax. Hopefully, relaxed enough for me to sleep even if it is for a few hours. Anyway, Billie laid on my lap as I watched the movies. I watched Little Miss Sunshine and Ted. I love both movies.

I am going to end this particular blog post in hopes that I can get some sleep. Thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday ahead of them. Peace Out, World!!!

It’s 5:00 In the Morning & Time for Bed

Good Morning, World!!! It is five in the morning in my corner of the world and time for me to go to bed to sleep the day away. I sleep the day away on Saturdays because I work twelve plus hours on Saturday nights. I am looking forward to going to bed and curly up with my cat Billie Dean at my side.

Speaking of my cat Billie Dean, he hasn’t really left my side tonight. He was curled up on my lap all night long. He was curled up on my lap no matter if I was reading or watching movies. Billie has a calming affect on me which helps a great deal with my anxiety.

Another thing that helps with my anxiety is reading. Just like I said in my last post, I read. I read for about an hour. Of course Billie was curled up on my lap sleeping. I read Dragonsong by Anne McCaffey. I am really enjoying the book a great deal. I hope after I am done reading it, that I will do a book review on it. I love to read a great deal.

After reading for about an hour, I watched movies. Movies help me to escape reality for a few hours. Sometimes escaping reality is a good thing as it helps deal with stress. I watched The Princess Bride and Free Willy. I really enjoy both movies as they remind me of positive childhood memories. Good childhood memories are a rare thing for me so I hold on to them like they are gold.

I am needing to end this particular blog post because it is time for me to go to bed and get some sleep. I want to thank all of you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you all read my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has an awesome Saturday as well as a great weekend. Peace Out, World!!!

Just Another Random Post

Good Evening, World!!! I am sad right now and dealing with some grief which explains why I am feeling a bit on the gloomy side. Today marks the two year anniversary of me adopting my last cat, Lil Brooke. I miss her dearly and wish she didn’t cross over the rainbow bridge on Thanksgiving Day of last year (2019) as she was only with me for a year and a half. I would have loved to have more time with Lil Brooke but I am extremely grateful for the time I did have with her. I am also grateful that she had a furrever home for the last year and half of her life. She will always have very special place in my heart.

As sad as I am with missing Lil Brooke I am grateful for today. I had a therapy session with my therapist on the phone earlier. My therapy session went well. We discussed a number of things that needed to be discussed. I am grateful to be able to still have a session with my therapist even if it is on the phone for now.

Anyway, I am going to go to a friends place to watch movies and eat food. This friend is a neighbor so I will just be taking an elevator ride to their place. It is perfect weather for movies especially with good friends and food. Looking forward to spending time with other people.

I do not have much more to talk about. I want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has a great rest of their Wednesday evening. Peace Out, World!!!
