More Random Thoughts

Hello, World!!! I know it’s only Monday but I am already sick and tired of hear about the Royal Wedding. If I don’t know the people involved in the wedding I don’t want to hear about it. I know I can always turn off the news but then I’ll miss what is going on in my corner of the world.

It is suppose to be another warm day in Seattle. It is suppose to get to about eighty five degrees Fahrenheit (29.5 Celsius)  here in Seattle today. I love this type of weather. I plan on enjoying this weather despite having a debilitating migraine.

Dealing with migraines is not the most fun thing to deal with but I have found that practicing my new faith or what I know of it has been helpful. Reading Buddhist Scriptures as well as a book call Why Buddhism Is True has been quite helpful to subsiding the migraines.

I am hoping that looking into Buddhism is going to be the faith path I am suppose to be on. As of right now it appears to be the right path. I just need to find a place of Buddhist worship to attend to.

Monday Morning Thoughts

Good Morning, World!!! I am not a big fan of being up early. It is 5:30ish in the morning in my corner of the world. I would be happy if I could sleep in till till seven or eight o’clock in the morning. On good part at least I wasn’t up at three o’clock in the morning today.

As I sit here blogging I am having my cup of tea and watching the news. My news paper hasn’t been delivered yet today. Having a cup of tea in the morning is like people having a cup of coffee in the morning. I am not a big fan of the taste of coffee. For me tea is self soothing.

I am not sure what I am going to be doing today as I have a migraine. I hope my migraine goes away as I want to go to art group today. I love attending art group. I love art as it helps me express my emotions.

I don’t understand why everyone is obsessed with the Royal Wedding. They are just normal people like you and I are. They just are more well known than we are. I just don’t want to hear about the royal wedding anymore.

3 Hours of Reading & Trying to Sleep

Good Morning, World!!! I am still awake. After my last post I was hoping to get back to sleep. I, unfortunately was unable to do so.

I think not being able to get back to sleep is due to my anxiety. Not only is my anxiety acting but my depression is acting up as well. Not sure why but it is. Maybe its due to the lack of sleep.

I have been reading the last three hours when I wasn’t trying to get back to sleep. I am grateful I chose to read the Star Wars book. I know I have said this before but it is an easy read or eye candy as I like to call it.

Just Me Rambling About Random Sh*t

Good Afternoon, World!!! I am sitting here watching the news and blogging at the same time. I am going to be blogging what ever the hell that comes to my mind and right now I don’t know what that will be.

As I mentioned I am watching the local news. As usual there is no freaking good news being reported. I wish they would share some good news at least once a day.

I mentioned in my last post that I was working on my LGBTQ workbook. I went back to it and did one more section in the chapter I am on.  I also started working on my recovery workbook. I did a couple of sections on that as well.

I have also been reading my Star Wars book. It is an easy read and I might be done with it by this time next week if I focus on it. I am really enjoying the book and hope to read it as fast I think I will.

I am trying to figure what I am going to have for lunch. I think I am going to have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I will have glass of chocolate milk with it.

Ugh, It’s Monday Morning

Good Morning, World!!! It is still morning here in Seattle. Hell, it is still morning in all time zones of the United States. And it is Monday morning at that. Monday mornings are not any fun for most people in the world as it is the start of another work week.

I read in the news paper that asthma studies have been happening to reverse it even in adults. This is a good thing for me as I have asthma. Millions of people are affected by asthma around the world.

I should find out some time today if I am making money on the advertisements on my blog. If I’m not making the money then I am most likely taking the advertisements off my blog.

Something I have done today and haven’t done in a few days is mindfulness practice. I have found this quite helpful in starting my day. It is not the cure all but it sure is more helpful than people realize. It is not easy to do but again it is worth it.

Saturday Morning Depression

Good Morning, World!!! I’ve been awake for several hours now. I am a wee bit depressed. Not sure what is causing it but I sure in the hell know that the crappy weather isn’t helping. I just wish I wasn’t dealing with the depression however it is a reality I have to deal with.

A reality that is having me focus on good self care as well as doing DBT skills. In fact I feel like my DBT skills are self care. Or at least a form of self care. I am needing do some self-soothing skills as well as some distracting skills.

One of the skills, I’ll be doing is drinking tea which is self soothing for me. Another skill I am going to use is read the news paper which is somewhat of a distraction skill for me. I know it seems like a weird combination to do at the same time but it helps me if I start my day out like that.

I am also going to be going to the mall with a friend today. I am not a big mall person but this is an “out of the box” thing my therapist wanted me to come up with. Going to the mall will be challenging for me but it will be helpful for me as well.

Something that I have already done to help with my depression as well as my anxiety is some meditation and mindfulness practices. Since I have been doing the mindfulness and meditation on the regular basis, I have noticed some lessening of the anxiety or least lessening of the intensity of the anxiety.

A Morning of Self Care

Good Morning (again), World!!! I am feeling slightly better than my last post. That is because I have done some good self care for myself. Self care that put me into a better head space.

I first did some mindfulness and meditation practice. This tends to help me focus on different aspects of my life. Aspects of my life that include me being in a better head space.

After my mindfulness and meditation practice I had some tea while reading the news paper. As usual there was really no real good news. Sports wise my favorite is doing well right now. But it is only the beginning of the season.

Now I am about to head out to have an appointment with my new psychiatric nurse practitioner. I hope she is good. I hope she stays. I, of course of some anxiety over this appointment but that is why I have done what I have done as mentioned above.

I need to get going to my appointment. Have a great day and peace out world!!!

An Idea or Two About Structure

Hello, World!!! I was doing a mindfulness exercise and realized that if helps me in the late evening then it will help me in the morning as well. So, I think I am going to start my day with a mindfulness exercise or least do it pretty early on to the start of my day. As I was thinking about this I remember the conversation I had with my therapist during our session yesterday about how I do better with structure.

After thinking about the conversation I had yesterday, I pulled out my calendar and started penciling in things that I would like the do and things I need to. I plan on filling out next week and show it to my new therapist.

Mindfulness is one of the things I plan on doing both during the morning and late evening. I also plan on continuing drinking tea while reading the news paper in the morning. Another thing I want to do on the more regular basis is to do my workbooks. I feel like if I do this it will help me help myself and get to where I want in my recovery. I also hope to discuss my work in the workbooks with my therapist. These are just a few ideas I would like to do to build some structure in my life.

Seattle Police Helping With Opioid Epidemic

Good Evening, World!!! I am a happy camper right now as the local news station I watch made sure to emphasis a particular that many advocates like myself are thrilled about. Seattle Police was able to get a donation of one hundred or so naloxone (narcan) for more officers to carry to help in an opioid overdose.

I know many people take issues with such things however, I as advocate of the Harm Reduction model as well as being a live in general I am all for this. You kind of need to be alive to be able to choose to be in recovery.

Tuesday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! Well, there is still snow on the ground here in Spokane where my grandma’s funeral was held. News sources say it is suppose to be snowing at sea level in Seattle which will be a shit show for me and my family going back to Seattle.

Despite the possibility of snow I am looking forward to going home. There is nothing like being in your own home. I miss my bed.
