A Goodnight Post

Hello, World!!! It is 11:30pm on Monday night in my corner of the world and I am getting sleepy so I think it is time to go to bed. Even though I am really sleepy and about to go to bed, I want to continue to read the book I am reading. In fact I have been reading since my last blog post. A cool thing is that my cat, Lil Gertie, has been cuddling with me for most of the last few hours as I read.

Tomorrow, I don’t have much going except that I have an appointment with my therapist. I really need to attend my appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) as I miss my appointment last week. We have a great deal to discuss as well as work on. My therapist is extremely cool and he cares about his clients or at least that has been my experience.

Other than seeing my therapist tomorrow, I don’t have much else planned. I think I am going to do the same thing I did today, tomorrow. That is to have scented candles burning with music blaring as I read or do some form of art. Not sure what type of art yet but some form of art. I figure if I do what I did today it will help me be more chill especially since I have a therapy appointment tomorrow. Therapy is never easy and if I am able do good self care tomorrow like I did today then I will be all good for the most part.

Good self care is an essential part of being in recovery. For me, what I did today is only part of my self care routine and is something I enjoy. Of course, I can’t always do today’s form of self care because of responsibilities I have to tend to but when I am able to do what I did today, it is well worth it. Self care looks differently for everyone and it changes daily.

Getting Back In The Habit

Hello, World!!! It is me again. I did end up fixing some spaghetti for dinner and invited my friend from across the hall from me in my apartment building over. My friend was extremely grateful for the invite, the food and the company. We discussed a lot of topics. One which is crucial for my mental health and that is structure. As we discussed structure it occurred to me that I need to blog more and make sure it is scheduled into my day. In fact I brought up my blog to my neighbor and how I need to schedule it into my daily life. He a great suggestion of having an accountability partner and he offered to be my accountability partner for my blog and I his accountability partner for him exercising.  So, not only did I have great company for dinner, it turned into something that will be helpful for me in regards to my blog and mental health, an accountability partner.

So, now that I had time to do the dishes and to think about how to get back into the habit of blogging on the regular basis, I realize that if I do one of WordPress’s courses, it would and will be helpful. I know this from past experiences. I am planing on doing a course I have already done and plan on starting it on Monday. I plan on doing the course “Finding Your Everyday Inspiration.” It is a twenty day course and I have been told that it takes at least twenty one days to create habit. Some studies say it can take sixty days to create habit but the twenty day course will help me either way with creating a habit of blogging on the more regular basis.

Another thing I will start doing in regard to blogging is doing a Weekly Plans post every Sunday and a Weekly Check-In every Saturday. The Weekly Plans will start tomorrow (Sunday) and the Weekly Check Ins will start back up on Saturday March 9th. When I did this in the past I found it helpful for my mental health as well as keeping you my reader interested in continuing to read my blog.

I don’t have much more to say about my plans to blog more as many of you have hear this before from me. The only difference this time around is that I have an accountability partner. Oh yeah, I am also scheduling it and putting it into my calendar. I hope this time I actually follow through with it and hope you all can hold me accountable as well.

Keeping Busy Through Grief

Hello, World!!! Right now I am dealing with some sadness. Sadness about missing my grandma. I miss greatly miss my grandma. It’s going to be a hard few days for me. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and Monday is the third month anniversary of my grandma’s death. I wish dealing with grief wasn’t so difficult.

I have been doing multiple things to help me with the grief I have been dealing with. One of the things I have been doing to creating my schedule for next week. Having a regular schedule helps me with my recovery.

Another thing I have been doing is painting. Painting and all forms of art help me express my emotions. The emotions that I can not express in words come through in my art.

Boredom Strikes, Again

Hello, World!!! I am at my mental health center bored half out of my mind. I, technically didn’t have to come in today but decided to do so, so I wouldn’t be isolating. Isolating is not a good thing for me when I am dealing with depression.

As I am sitting here in the computer room of day treatment, blogging I am waiting for my therapist as we have fifteen minute check in’s on Friday. The check in’s can be in person or over the phone. My therapist appears to be invested in my recovery which is good thing. But I don’t know how much he is invested at the moment as our therapeutic relationship just started.

Since I am so bored, I think I am going to schedule some things in to do for next week. Having a regular schedule tends to help me out a great deal. The structure is what I need for my recovery or at least part of my recovery.

Another thing I might do is one of the workbooks I carry around with me. I carry two workbooks with me so when I get bored or am waiting for an appointment, I have something to do.

I better get going and socialize with others as I am here to not isolate. Have are great day and Peace Out, World!!!

An Idea or Two About Structure

Hello, World!!! I was doing a mindfulness exercise and realized that if helps me in the late evening then it will help me in the morning as well. So, I think I am going to start my day with a mindfulness exercise or least do it pretty early on to the start of my day. As I was thinking about this I remember the conversation I had with my therapist during our session yesterday about how I do better with structure.

After thinking about the conversation I had yesterday, I pulled out my calendar and started penciling in things that I would like the do and things I need to. I plan on filling out next week and show it to my new therapist.

Mindfulness is one of the things I plan on doing both during the morning and late evening. I also plan on continuing drinking tea while reading the news paper in the morning. Another thing I want to do on the more regular basis is to do my workbooks. I feel like if I do this it will help me help myself and get to where I want in my recovery. I also hope to discuss my work in the workbooks with my therapist. These are just a few ideas I would like to do to build some structure in my life.

Boring Ramblings About Blogging

Good Afternoon, World. As many of you know by now if you read my blog regularly, I attempt to improve my blogging skill a little more as well as attempt to follow through on having a schedule. A schedule on what to write when. I hope that makes sense.

I am planning on starting one of WordPress’s courses that I really enjoy to do. It is in hopes to keep you my reader and/or follower interested in reading my blog. Keeping you interested it something that I hope I can do by taking one of WordPress’s courses.

Another idea is go back to having a regular schedule. Here is hoping that I can follow through on this. The schedule as follows:

Sunday: Weekly Plans – this is where I tell you the plans I have for the week

Monday: Writing Prompts – do something that I won’t have to think of the topic

Tuesday: Not sure yet

Wednesday: Special Guest Junior (1st and 3rd Wed.) and Mama Bear (2nd and 3rd Wed.)

Thursday: Educational – Stuff about Mental Health, it’s treatments and so on

Friday: Fun Fact – Just a much of random facts that are weird or cool

Saturday: Weekly Check-in – This is were I inform you of what I did for the week.

Another Post About Blogging Sh*t

Good Morning, World!!! I’ve been thinking about my blog a lot lately. Maybe because I’ve been posting more as of lately and getting my support system to finally follow through on the guest post they will do every other week. It is my hope that I can create a regular schedule on when I will have regular post as well the usual way of how I am already doing thing as posting whenever I feel like it. So the schedule I plan to have is as follows:

Sunday: Weekly Plans. This seems pretty self explanatory. It’s where I plan to tell you what I have planned for the week.

Monday: Weekly Writing prompts. This is where I can write both fiction and nonfiction stories. More or less I hope to be creative in this post as it is my hope for it to be fiction versus nonfiction as I usually write about my own personal experiences.

Tuesday: To Be Determined (TBD)

Wednesday: Guest Post. This is the day where my support system will write what its like to deal with a loved one who has lived experience. The primary guest bloggers will be Junior and Mama Bear. Junior and Mama Bear worked it out to where Junior will post on the first and third Wednesdays of the month and Mama Bear will post on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. As for the rare fifth Wednesday, I’ll get a special guest. Hopefully, someone who has been an inspiration to me, the peer community or the blogging community.

Thursday: To Be Determined (TBD)

Friday: Fun Facts. Fun Facts will include weird and/or random facts about things around the world as well as about me.

Saturday: Weekly Check-in. This is where I inform you how my week went and what I did. It’s more or less a post about how my week went.

As you can tell I have high hopes regarding keeping a regular schedule with blogging. I don’t want to not post and lose you as reader yet I don’t want to overwhelm you feed or email with too many post. I’m attempting to find a happy medium with blogging.

Something else I am going to do is take free courses that WordPress does. I’ll being doing everything from poetry to photography to inspired writing. I’m doing this in hopes to keep myself interested in blogging as well as you interested in reading my blog.

In fact keeping you my reader interested is why I am creating a schedule as well as having special guest and weekly writing prompts that hopefully will be fictional along with weekly plans and check-ins. Having a blogging schedule will also give me the structure I so desperately need and desire.
