All I Can Say Is That It’s Monday

Good Evening, World!!! The title of this post says it all. Today, I had a “team meeting” with my now old case manager and Gilbert, who is now my old therapist and met with my new clinician. Not sure what to think of my new clinician but he appears to be a little timid. I just hope he is as direct with me as my case manager and Gilbert as directness is quite helpful for me.

Something else I did was go to Art Group. I love art. We were to paint one big flower to cover the page. I didn’t do that as I wanted to create a field of flowers. It didn’t come out as planned but I like it because I made a couple of focal points in my painting.

When I came home I read a chapter in my book. I am really enjoying my book and grateful that I now have the concentration to now focus on reading. Once, I am done blogging I think I am going to go back to reading. Right now my favorite genre is Fantasy (as well as Science Fiction) and proud of being considered a “geek” due to the genre.

A Relaxing Sunday Planned

Good Morning, World!!! As many of you know today is Easter Sunday and April Fool’s Day. I had planned to do some household chores today but decided to save that for another day.

Many people around the world are celebrating Easter Sunday. Actually, people who consider themselves to be Christian today is a big holiday for their faith. It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, almost everybody around the world I am sure is going to be playing at least one practical joke on someone since it is April Fools day. I already played a joke on Junior and he returned the favor.

Besides doing April Fool’s jokes on Junior, I’m planning on doing some relaxing things today. I’ll be watching movies with Junior today. I’ll most likely also be reading and doing some art work.  If I do some art, I might share it with you all. Not sure but I might.

I think I’m going to get back to doing what I was doing and relax for the day. Have a wonderful day. Peace Out, World!!!

DBT to Combat Depression

Good Morning, World!!! I woke up depressed. Waking up depressed has me acutely aware on what I need to do to make I don’t let it affect me as badly as it can potentially do.  I need to focus on what work in moments like these.

For me that is using my DBT skills. Skills that have evolved over time for me. For me the skills I use as of lately are art, reading, and workbooks. All of these skills do something different for me yet are helping me with my recovery process.

Art helps me express my emotions in ways I am unable to verbalize. That is why when I woke up this morning one of the first things I did was to do art. Specifically, I colored and did some collaging.

Reading helps me get out of my head. It helps me focus on something else than the things going on in my head. It gets me out of my negative head space. That is why after I did some art, I read.

Reading helped me refocus my mind so I could do one of my workbooks. Specifically one on self awareness. The self awareness workbook is proving to be more challenging than I thought it would be. I do have to say that challenging is always a good thing when it comes to doing workbooks or something that is recovery related.

Saturday Night Ramblings

Hello, World!!! I am sitting here wishing I could be in a different head space that I have been in for the last year and a half. All I want in this world is to be back to doing well. I can’t help but think something better is coming my way. I just want some type of breakthrough with whatever the fuck is going on with the continued symptoms that appear to not be subsiding. I just cant lose hope. Hope is the essential to a persons recovery.

As part of my recovery I need to create some structure to help me and this is something that I feel like my treatment team is failing at but I share the responsibility as I am the one the is responsible for my daily life not my treatment team. I’ve learned that personal responsibility in my recovery is something that no matter how a person is doing symptom wise people respect you. I just need to take personal responsibility in make sure things don’t get worse.

One way I do that is doing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills. Skills that have been quite helpful for me over the years. If I do my DBT homework I know that I will be able to do my skills.

I think after doing DBT homework, I’ll do some art. Specifically, painting and collaging. Art helps me express my emotions in a way I am unable to do so in other ways.

It’s My Birthday & I Can Do What I Want

Good Morning, World!!! It is my birthday and Junior surprised me with some things. He first surprised me with breakfast in bed. He then gave me some presents that I will enjoy. I got some art supplies which I am eager to start using. I also go a dozen or so Wonder Woman comic books. I also got six books to read as well.

So more or less with the art supplies, books and comics books, I am going to be busy for a while. A type of busy I don’t mind doing. I’m looking forward to do some are as well as reading. I am looking forward to engaging with these fun activities.

Happy Birthday, Gertie

First and fore most I want to wish the love of my life, Gertie, a very Happy Birthday. Gertie deserves the best birthday ever. I am starting off their birthday with doing my guest post all about Gertie and how I am going to celebrate them today. I’m posting this at four in the morning so when Gertie gets up with breakfast in bed that they will already have birthday wishes from you, the reader Gertie works so hard for. Breakfast in bed and birthday wishes from you, the reader is only the first two presents I will be giving to.

The other gifts Gertie will be opening first thing this morning is art supplies for their art work. Books and comic books for them to read. This way Gertie will have a way to express their emotions through art as well as get out of their on head by reading books.

Of course Gertie planned something for themselves as part of a recovery present to themselves which is to go and have a therapy appointment with Gilbert. Gertie thinks therapy is a great way to celebrate a birthday since they are not able to work at the moment.

When Gertie gets back from their appointment I’ll take them to their favorite restaurant of Red Robin. Gertie loves Red Robin. I already know what Gertie is going to get and that is what makes going to Red Robin so easy.
