Sleepless In Stormy Seattle

Good Morning, World!!! It is two thirty in the morning in Seattle and I am wide awake once again. At least I did get some sleep tonight so that is a plus. I am not going to complain about getting roughly two hours of sleep. It is more than I got last night.

If you were to look outside right now you would not have guessed that it was a beautiful day in Seattle yesterday. It is quite stormy outside as I sit here and write this post. Stormy weather can be enjoyable at times.

I think I am going to binge watch some M*A*S*H. M*A*S*H  is one of my favorite television shows. The comedy and humor in the show helps me a great deal with the symptoms of my mental health conditions.

Thanks for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Feeling Better

Good Evening, World!!! Today, I have been dealing with a lot of depression. I realized this about an hour and a half ago. I realized why my depression was acting up a little today. I had forgotten to do my meditation and mindfulness practice this morning. So, I did my practice and now I feel better. Today’s topic was love and kindness and how it is okay to self soothe. Meditation and mindfulness self soothes me and is a self care act for me.

After I did my meditation and mindfulness, I watched a few episodes of M*A*S*H. It made me laugh so I hard, I almost peed my pants. Humor helps me a great deal. M*A*S*H reminds me of my childhood when I would watch it with my dad.

It is time to get back to watching M*A*S*H. Have a great evening everyone. Peace Out, World!!!

Boring Evening & Wanting To Go To Bed

Good Evening, World!!! Not sure if I have much to say right now. I am just attempting to keep busy and not go to bed to early. It’s not even eight o’clock yet and I want to go to bed. If I go to bed now, I won’t be able to sleep later on which is not a good thing.

I think I am going to binge watch some television. Specifically, M*A*S*H. I love the show and it makes me laugh. There is a lot of humor in M*A*S*H. Comedies help me through rough and/or boring moments like right now. More boring than anything else. So I think I am going to watch M*A*S*H.

Have a good evening. Peace Out, World!!!

A Relaxing Sunday Planned

Good Morning, World!!! As many of you know today is Easter Sunday and April Fool’s Day. I had planned to do some household chores today but decided to save that for another day.

Many people around the world are celebrating Easter Sunday. Actually, people who consider themselves to be Christian today is a big holiday for their faith. It is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, almost everybody around the world I am sure is going to be playing at least one practical joke on someone since it is April Fools day. I already played a joke on Junior and he returned the favor.

Besides doing April Fool’s jokes on Junior, I’m planning on doing some relaxing things today. I’ll be watching movies with Junior today. I’ll most likely also be reading and doing some art work.  If I do some art, I might share it with you all. Not sure but I might.

I think I’m going to get back to doing what I was doing and relax for the day. Have a wonderful day. Peace Out, World!!!

Middle of the Night Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! I am unable to sleep once again and I am watching late night television. Comedy and humor appears to be of help when I am unable to sleep and/or struggling. At this moment in time I am watching due to the fact that I am unable to sleep.

I think if I continue to not be able to sleep properly tonight that I am going to work on my Self Awareness Workbook that I got from Amazon on Tuesday. I started it when I got it and it already appears to be challenging. Challenging is a good thing for a work book. I feel like if it doesn’t challenge you to a degree then it is something that doesn’t need to be worked on.

I’m also going be reading tonight. As I have mentioned in previous posts, reading helps me a great deal. It helps by getting me out of my head even if its only for a half an hour. Plus it gets me to use my imagination.

Thank you for reading. Goodnight!!! Peace Out, World!!!

Monday Morning Ramblings

Good Morning, World!!! Brrr, its cold outside. I finally got some sleep last night. Much needed sleep. I am grateful for the sleep I got last night.

I started this morning out with reading the news paper and drinking some tea. Nothing really happy in the news except the Olympics and the Funnies. Another good thing in the news is Baseball. Spring training is going be starting soon. Another good news story is that a local urban loop trail reopens and I am so looking forward to the reopening.

It is a wee bit chilly here in Seattle. It is currently 28 degrees Fahrenheit. For Seattle that is really cold. I am not a big fan of the cold but at least it is sunny outside.

Thank you for reading. I hope to blog more later on today. Peace Out, World!!

Table For Two

Craft a story or scene about two people—or other nonhuman characters, if you prefer—from very different backgrounds sharing a meal together. What do they learn about each other that they weren’t expecting?

This is an easy one for me as Junior and I come from two completely different backgrounds. Junior is a well off Mexican American while I am an Irish American who is not all that well off. He is well over six feet tall and I am just barely over five feet tall. Junior is a successful firefighter while I am an unemployed Peer Specialist dealing with their mental health conditions.

Junior and I maybe completely different from each other especially when it comes to how we were raised yet we have a lot in common. We both play musical instruments. He plays the bag pipes, drums and trumpet while I play the flute and teaching myself the harmonica. We both are in the “helping” professions. We both have a sense of humor. Humor that gets us through rough patches as individuals and as a couple.

I think what Junior and I learned about each other is something that we weren’t expecting but not a surprise was our desire to advocate for those who do not have a voice. Especially those who don’t have a voice in the communities we most identify with. Another thing we were both surprised about is the love of sports we have.

Thank you for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

The End of the Road

Think back to a moment where you’ve come to the end of the road with something important in your life—a relationship with a lover; moving out of your childhood home; graduation from school; etc. Write a scene wrapped around that moment, describing how you felt (good and bad) and how you closed the door on that chapter in your life.

This writing prompt is difficult as I can come up with a lot of end of road stories that have influenced me to where I am at in the moment in time. If it wasn’t for end of road experiences I wouldn’t be in recovery. In recovery with an eating disorder or mental health. I wouldn’t be working on my recovery with self-harm.

Its the end of the road experiences that I have experienced has been what Oprah called Awe-Ha moments. Moments that have changed my life and hope that the experiences I have had can help change the lives of others so they can go on and help others themselves.

Thinking about the end of the road not only has me thinking about my recovery but my grandma and her currently being in home hospice care. For her its the end of the road yet she still has her sense of humor. The same sense of humor that I have to help me through her dying. I hope as I deal with my grandma dying I hope I can laugh at life like she has.

500th Post

Good Morning, World!!! This is my 500th Post!!! A post that wouldn’t have happened without you my reader. Its hard to believe that as of this post I’ve written 500 post.

Today has been a good day thus far. A nice relaxing day. I’ve been watching That 70’s Show which absolutely hilarious. For me humor works as both as preventive skill and a crisis coping skill. Right now its just for pure enjoyment.

I just wanted to thank you for reading my blog. It is much appreciated. Without you I would not have an active blog. Thank you!!! Peace Out, World!!!

Tough Evening/Night

Hello, World!!! I’m having a tough go at it at the moment. I’ve been dealing with that fact the my grandma is in hospice care and I’m attempting to process it through journaling and blogging. It appears to be helping.

Reading a history text book and watching TedTalks about history. I feel like I can get some sort of education regarding history. Its helping with getting my mind off of things and wish my family and I weren’t dealing with all this but its the reality we are dealing with.

Reality can suck shit but it can be wonderful at the same time. For example my grandma told me today if I don’t go to my job interviews and Tuesday and Wednesday that when she goes, she will haunt me to the day I die and then haunt me after death. I got to love my grandma. She’s facing death yet she is still using her humor.

Thank you for reading. I hope everyone has a good evening/night. Peace Out, World!!!
