Not Much Sleep but @ Least I Got a Little Sleep

Good Afternoon, World. I am happy to announce that I got some sleep. I didn’t get much sleep but at least I got a little be of sleep. Now that I am sort of awake, I plan on taking it by reading. I will be reading a book that a family member loaned me. In fact my great aunt load me this book and it appears to be a short book that is an easy read. After that I would be geeking out as well as nerding out by reading comic books. Specifically, I will be reading Wonder Woman comic books.

I figured that reading will be an easy way to relax since I didn’t get much sleep today. Reading is a form of self care for me. Self care is necessary in my line of work as being a peer specialist at a mental health agency. I love my job but need to take care of myself so I can make sure I can be of help to my clients.

Of course my cat is a part or my self care plan. He is such cuddle bug as well as a love bug. I don’t know what I would do with out his unconditional love. I love Billie just as much as he loves me.

My New Year’s Goals at a Glance

Hello, World!!! It is nearly nine thirty at night in my neck of the woods known as Seattle. I don’t think I have mentioned my goals for this year. I have a ton of them but will share just a handful of my goals for tonight.

First, I will be continuing to volunteering at PAWS Cat City as it helps me keep grounded. Not only does it help me keep ground but I get to help the cats find furrever homes which brings me a great deal of joy.

Another thing I plan on doing is mindfulness meditation practice on the daily basis. This, too keep me grounded. It also helps me keep my emotions under control.

Another thing that will help me with my emotions is doing self help workbooks. Workbooks that can help me with my emotions and help me be a better peer specialist.

I also plan on doing art as art helps me be creative and be able to express my emotions in a positive way. I love the fact the art can help me be a more positive person and less angry.

Reading is another way to help with my emotions and is great goal for me. Reading helps me escape from the realties of what is going on in the hard and harsh world we live in. Reading is a great escape for me and helps me come up with idea’s to do art work.

I have more New year’s goals for 2022 and will share them in another post. I do want to say that my cat, Billie Dean is one of my goals for this year. Billie is a goal for this year to make sure he stat heathy due to hi kidney disease. Thankfully it is under control and not exactly at stage one yet which is a great thing. He is such a love bug that loves to cuddle. I love him so much and I am sure he loves me back.

Grateful for a Three Day Weekend

Good Morning, again, World!!! Not much has changed since my last blob post. I am still coloring a freaky, horrific Disney coloring book which is somewhat relaxing to me. As far as the Christmas/Holiday book my great aunt is loaning me to reading, I am slowly reading. Not as fast as she would like me to but at least I am reading it. The think that is interesting me the most is reading my Wonder Woman Comic books. I need to prefer comic books as well as science fiction and fantasy books and occasionally anima books.

Of course I plan on do doing the majority of things I mentioned above. I am sure Billie Dean my cat will sitting with me as I do want I plan. Of course Billie will would like to help. I love my cat so very much.

Unable to Sleep so I Might as Well as Read

Good Very Early Morning, World!!! It just a few minutes after two o’clock in the morning in my corner of the world known as Seattle. I really wish could sleep but something I have learned in my recovery is go with the flow even though it is not easy to do at times.

Right now it seems like it is one of those times that it’s easy to go with the flow even when it wasn’t the flow you thought would happen. On of my new year’s goals was to be reading more. Long story short my great aunt who is my grandpa’s sister lent my grandpa to read a book. My grandpa hasn’t read it yet but let me borrower it to read. It appears to be an easy reading and not a very long book which is good thing. So it is my goal to read this book within two week starting after I end this particular blog post. The book is set in the holiday season focusing on Christmas. I am more into Science Fiction and Fantasy genre books but it never hurt to try something knew when it comes to reading or anything else. At least Billie Dean my cat will be cuddling up with me as I read this book. I hope to give a review of this book when I am done with it.

The Comfort of My Cat, Billie Sitting in My Lap

Good Evening, World!!! Today has been not one of my best days at work. It also hasn’t been one of my worst days at work. The type of day I had at work is like riding a rollercoaster that goes upside down on three different occasions. Not get me wrong I love riding rollercoasters for fun. I just don’t like when my work day feels like a rollercoaster. I hope I am making sense with what I am trying to convey.

Anyway, I had an uncomfortable interaction with a colleague today. Not meaning to offend this colleague because I admire this person. So, long story short, I was able to check in with my supervisor who validated my experience and informed me that I didn’t do anything wrong. My direct supervisor is finally back from FMLA and she is awesome. My temporary supervisor is awesome as well. Hell, all the supervisors are amazing and feel supported by them as well as the clinical director.

One of the best parts of my job, the clinicians come to me for advice on help to help the clients we serve at my employers. It feels good when people come to me to be of help for our clients. It also feels odd at times when the lead peer specialist most likely would be the best bet to go to for advice regarding helping clients. Sadly, the lead peer specialist isn’t my biggest fan which I won’t discuss here but I do admire her. She has some awesome insight on things that I know nothing about. I love learning things from the lead peer specialist despite her not liking me.

On that note my colleagues are quite supportive. My colleagues gave me the encouragement I needed and was not expecting it. I am glad that my colleagues are beyond awesome.

Now that I am off work, I am writing this particular blog post with my cat, Billie Dean, on my lap as I listen to a podcast on philosophy. The podcast of the philosophy I am listening to is “Philosophize This.” I am learning a lot about philosophy from the podcast I am listening to.

Another thing I am learning philosophy from is the book is “The Republic and Other Works” by Pluto. I feel like I am getting a great education about philosophy from the book I am reading. I love learning and educating myself.

As far as my cat Billie Dean, he is still laying curled up in my lap. He knows that my day has had some stress in it so he is trying to get me to be more mindful of the present versus the past even the recent past such as my work day today. I love my cat, Billie so much and that he gives me unconditional love even though I do not deserve the unconditional love he gives me. I so love how is is such a cuddly love but of a a cat.

Too Tired to Write (& to Sleep)

Good Morning, World!!! I am just way too tired to write much less sleep. Hell, I am even too tired too tired to focus on the anxiety and depression I have dealing with. First I get woken up by a neighbor pulling the fire alarm due to other neighbors not wearing their mask.

Now I am dealing with three neighbors who live on my floor in different apartments screaming at each other for bullshit reasons. I all I want is to go to sleep. It’s bad enough that I have insomnia but my neighbors sure haven’t been helping me with the sleep I need tonight, It is frustrating as fucking hell that I am unable to sleep.

Despite not being able to sleep, I have been listening to a podcast. A podcast about philosophy. Specifically, I have been listening to the philosophy podcast called “Philosophize This.” I am learning so much from this podcast and feel like I am getting an informal education from in it.

I am also feeling that I am getting an informal education from reading the book by Plato called “The Republic and Other Works.” It’s about Plato’s theory on philosophy and I feel like I am learn a lot from this book as well as the podcast I am listening to. I feel like reading about and listening to a podcast is giving me an education I would be getting if I was not able to sleep for various reasons.

Of course, my cat Billie Dean is now wanting me to give him some attention. Hopefully the type of attention to help me fall back to sleep. I love my cat Billie so much. He is such a sweet cuddle bug of a cat.

A Little Early to be Up on a Saturday Morning

Good Morning, World!!! It is really early on a Saturday morning here in Seattle. Since I am up so early and unable to sleep, I think I will be as productive as possible as I can be right now in this moment of time.

The thinking about the what I am doing it reading about books that can help me with both my professional and preanal lives just like reading a book about philosophy that can help with my professional and personal life.

I also feel like listening to a podcast about philosophy can be helpful in my life as a whole including relationship with friendships. All this stuff has some intersect abilities to it. Something, I would to like to learn more about it.

I fell like as early as it is on a Saturday morning in a middle of a weekend, this will help me build better relationships even the relationships that are not the best relationships.

As far as reading books about relationships and listening to podcast on philosophy will help me become a better person as well as a better cat owner to my cat Billie Dean. Billie is a great way to put philosophy and relationships together.

Another Self Care Day from Work

Good Friday, Evening, World!!! I am taking another self care day from work for my mental health. It was triggered by a therapy session I had this past Tuesday. As much as I wish I wasn’t triggered to where I didn’t need to take time off for mental health reasons, I look at is as a sign of strength. A strength to take care of myself.

Today and yesterday have not been a waste of time in regards to work as I have been reading two books that are completely different but very similar. As a colleague says seeing parallels in books that are so opposite from either is awesome and a great way to learn. I am hoping to post about the intersections of the books into both my profession and personal live which I find fascinating. Reading even though it is both for professional and personal live for me is a form or self care for me.

Another form of self care for me was spending time with my beloved cat Billie Dean. Billie is an amazing 15 pound kitty that loves me unconditionally. I am so grateful that he is in my life. I hope he knows how much I love him back. Despite the weather today in Seattle, I still managed to get in a walk. In fact, I go two walk in today which is a great thing.

I did have a brief check in with my therapist today via the phone. The check in with my therapist was quite helpful and think she is a great fit for me and my recovery. I am grateful to be able to have access to therapy as many people sadly do not have access to therapy.

Taking A Sick Day From Work

Good Morning, World!!! I am taking a sick day from work today. I am taking it off today because one of my disabilities is sadly acting up. I did let my supervisor know via text to her cell phone as well as an email to her work email and a voicemail to her office phone. I just wanted to make sure I covered my ass even though my supervisor is beyond awesome. I admire my supervisor and how well she works with clients. I also did let Human Resources (HR) know that I am out due to my disability. I let HR know it was disability related to also cover my ass. I do plan on letting my supervisor know tomorrow when I am in the office that I was out due to my disability. I do not fear getting fired for calling out sick especially when it comes to my disability. I don’t tell my supervisor the full story about being out due to disability because I don’t want to put her in an awkward situation if people ask her why. My direct supervisor and the HR director are both amazing people.

Since I am taking care of my health today by taking care of my disability, I still plan on doing some reading for work. Both of the books that I am reading help me both professionally and personally. I am really enjoying the books and have started another blog post about these books and how they intersect with my professional and personal life.

The one thing I did do was go to the pharmacy to pick up my medication. Picking up my meds was extremely important because they help with my health issues as well as with my disabilities. So, I am happy that I got my meds.

Since I am hope sick from work I not only will be spending it reading the books I mentioned earlier in this blog post, I am spending the day with my cat, Billie Dean without any interruption. I love my cat so very much. The weather here in Seattle today makes it easy to spend it reading as I hang out with my cat, Billie.
