So Far So Good

Good Afternoon, World!!! It’s been a pretty chill day for me. I went grocery shopping for myself and my grandpa wanted to tag along. It was nice spending time with my grandpa while doing a chore I don’t really like doing; grocery shopping. My grandpa likes grocery shopping for some reason so whenever I go it’s when I spend time with him.

In all honesty if I didn’t need to go grocery shopping, I think I would have isolated today. Not sure why the depression is acting up to where I want to isolate a lot lately. Since I am aware that the depression is acting up to where isolation could become a problem, I know what I need to do. I need to use my DBT skills. Skill that have helped me a great deal.

Today is going to be one of many days that will be above eighty degrees Fahrenheit here in Seattle. Many locals start to melt at eighty degrees. I however start to melt at about ninety five degrees due to spending the majority of my childhood in Southern California. Days like today are the one reason why make an effort to go for walk. Going for walks on days like today help bring up the good parts of my childhood. Most of the good parts involve me being in California living with my dad and grandparents.

I think I am going to go so I can go for a walk. Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Just A Check-In

Good Morning, World!!! I noticed that I haven’t been blogging as much. I’m not sure why but I will attempt to make an effort to post at least once a day like I have been. I just don’t want to leave you my reader hanging or left out in the dark.

I was playing with my cat and she accidentally scratched me. She attempted to clean my wounds when I was dabbing my little bloody scratches. I love my cat and her personality.  She is a cute little cat who is acutely aware of what is going on with me emotionally.

I don’t have much to discuss right now. Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!

A Roller-Coaster of Thoughts

Good Morning, World!!! I don’t really know what I am going to post about at the moment due to the fact that my emotions have been up and down. Emotions that I wish would just let me have a break.

I have Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) group early this afternoon and am looking forward to it. I haven’t completed my homework for DBT yet however I know I will be able to finish it before group starts.

As my emotions appear to be on a roller coaster ride, I am grateful that I can radically accept where they happen to be. I may not like where they are but I am grateful that I am able to acknowledge where they are.

I think I am going to go to another group in late morning discussing a specific word and the meaning of word. Not just the dictionary definition but the definition society has or even a single person may have.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Baseball & Facebook

Good Evening, World!! I just finished watching the Seattle Mariners play against the Los Angeles Angels. The Mariners swept the Angels in a three game series. I was sad to see the Angels loose because I am from Anaheim now living in Seattle.

I have been isolating all day and know that watching the baseball game on Facebook helped a great deal. I just need to not be isolating. I think I’m going to reach out to folks so I am not isolating.

Just A Boring Ole Post

Good Morning, World!!! I am sitting here still in disbelief. Disbelief that the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) therapist is retiring and I have been asked to be a “surprise guest” at one of her retirement parties. As a “surprise guest” I will be giving a small speech to how this therapist has been influential in my recovery process. Especially, since she was the therapist I had when I first made an active decision to be in recovery.

As I am in disbelief about being a “surprise speaker” I have to admit that at this moment in time my depression is acting up. I know that it partly has to do with the crappy weather while it also has to do with poor sleep due to insomnia. I know ways to prevent the ways to make sure it doesn’t get worse and that is using my DBT skills. Skills that will help me get through this depression.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Just Some Random Thoughts

Good Morning, World!!! I am not quite sure how I am doing this morning. I just know I got sleep and am happy about that. Sleep doesn’t come easy for me and am eager to let people know that I received a semi-good night of it.

Right now I feel like social media such as Facebook can cause me to isolate from the “real world.” I learned this when I did some of my homework for both Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and my therapist.  I learned from the homework assignments that setting a set time I spend on social media.

I am looking forward to art group. Art group happens early this afternoon. I love attending art group. Art helps me express my emotions in ways I can not explain.

Feeling Meh Getting Slightly Better

Good Evening, World!!! I am still feeling a little meh however the feeling is slightly getting better. Having depression sucks shit but if I acknowledge the depression I know what to do to help myself through it. At least when it is in its milder form for me.

When I realized I was feeling depressed, I hung out with my family. We had waffles for a late breakfast. We also watch a baseball game on television. The team we were rooting for won.

When I got home I worked on my Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) homework. I also read ahead for the next group. DBT has helped through some really difficult times. Times where I could have given up but didn’t because I used my DBT skills.

After doing my DBT homework, I read. I read for about an hour. Reading helped me get out of my head. I read a Star Wars book that I am enjoying quite immensely.

Feeling Meh

Good Morning, World!!! Right now I am feeling a little meh. I’m not sure why but I am. Yesterday was a good day. I guess waking up feeling meh is having me vigilant on how my mood is going to be throughout the day.

Being aware of my emotions is something I have learned throughout my recovery. Being aware of my emotions helps me know what skills or tools I need to use to get through. I think today is going to be one of those days where using my skill is going be essential to how I react to whatever comes up.

Today, I think I am going to lay low as it appears that I am on edge due to feeling meh. Part of what I am going to do is do my DBT homework. Doing my DBT homework will help me put myself into wise mind. Being in wise mind will help me make good decisions.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!

Let’s Get Fucking Real

Good Morning, World!!! Over all it has been a good morning. As good as this morning has been I am angry. This anger has lead me to write this post. I am fucking going to get real here.

I don’t fucking understand why that only time America discusses mental health and suicide is when a mass shooting happens or when a celebrity dies by suicide? Why in the fucking hell does the media wait to something tragic happens. The month of May is mental health awareness month and not one news station in my area discussed mental health unless there was a school shooting involved.

We as not just a country but the world need to discuss more about mental health and suicide. We need to lessen the stigma that goes with it yet nothing is being done. I share bits and pieces of me here on my blog. I have emailed my politicians and local news stations yet nobody appears to give a rats ass till something tragic happens.

So, here I am sitting at my laptop attempting to lessen the stigma of getting help with a mental health challenge and/or suicidal thoughts or actions. I want people around the world that you are not alone in this battle. It is not an easy feat to battle depression or anxiety or any other mental health condition or suicidal thoughts however if you seek out help from people it can and will get better. I’m not going to lie and say its always going to be peachy keen when you get help and get better but you will have the skills to help you when things to get bad again.

The National Suicide Hotline number here in America is 1-800-273-8255. I don’t know Suicide hotline number for other countries or I would be giving those out as well. Please if you are struggling with your mental health and/or suicide please reach out to someone.
