Taking a Sick Day

Good Morning, World!!! Even though I don’t start work till 12:00noon my time which is Seattle time, I called into work sick. On days I don’t start till 12:00noon my time, I take the time to call my clients so it’s doesn’t cause the administrative assistant staff more work to do especially on a Monday. Not only does it make it easier for the admin staff but I realized if I reached out to the clients myself, I don’t have to use that time as “sick time.” Weather or not I get paid to call and cancel on my clients due to illness, I would still do it to especially on Mondays to help my colleagues out.

On a similar note, my supervisor gets “humorously annoyed” (her words, not mine) on how I call in sick. I text as well as call her cell phone (leaving her a voicemail if she doesn’t answer), email her (and HR) and call her on her office number (leaving a voicemail if she doesn’t answer). She is “humorously annoyed” because yes it is somewhat annoying but she finds it humorous because she appreciates the fact that I make sure she finds out some how since technology can be known to not work or do what it is suppose to when it is needed to do so. I technology at work tends to “misbehave” at the worst of the worst times. She does appreciate that I make the extra effort to make sure she is aware.

On to the next thing. Since I am not feeling well, my grandpa made homemade chicken soup yesterday since my uncle wasn’t feeling well. My grandpa just like he does quite frequently makes too much food. So, grandpa will bringing me some homemade chicken soup when he goes to the V.A to get his prescriptions since my home is on the way to the V.A. I love the fact that my 91 year old grandpa is still active. Not only is he more active that myself and the rest of the family, he is more healthy than the rest of the family.

Part of the reason why I am out sick is because my depression and anxiety are both acting up. That usually means that I get digestive problem which sucks. As sucky as it is at least I know I won’t vomit nor have digestive issues with my grandpa’s homemade soup. Soup that he learned to make from my grandma who who sadly passed away four year ago this Valentines day.

On another note, since I am not feeling well, I will be doing some art work. Specifically, I will be coloring. I hope to show you updates of what I color. It all depends if I remember to do so as well as how I am feeling at the moment. While coloring I will be listening to a podcast. A podcast about philosophy. The name of the podcast I will be listing to is “Philosophize This.” I really enjoy this particular podcast.

As much as I dislike being sick, I am grateful for the extra attention my cat Billie Dean gives me. Billie is a love bug even when I am not sick but tends to be more of one when I am sick. I love my cat so much and am grateful for the unconditional love he gives me even though I don’t deserve especially when I don’t give him the attention at the exact times he wants or needs it due to being busy.

I personally think the Seattle weather is okay enough to try to take Billie for a walk outside on his leash if he tolerates it. It’s the leash and harness he tolerates but its the outside he doesn’t tolerate. The thing is he tolerates the outside in his carrier so the vet and I think he needs to feel secure or a sense of safety when outside. So we came up with a training plan regarding outside time on the harness and leash.

Apparently, Mr. Sandman Forgot to Stop by My Place

Good Saturday, Morning, World!!! It is five zero four (5:04) in the blasted morning here in Seattle area. In fact as I looked out the window it is currently foggy outside. In all honesty, I wish I was able to sleep despite liking fog when I don’t have to be out in it.

As far as my cat, Billie Dean, he is sound asleep. Something I wish I was doing at the moment. Sadly, Mr. Sandman forgot to stop by my place so I could get some sleep. I just would like to sleep a solid eight hours, preferably at night. I am however grateful that Billie, my cat, is still asleep or he would most likely be wanting to play. And as much I as enjoy playing with Billie, I am just way too tired to play with him at the moment which is why I am glad he is sound asleep.

Since I haven’t been able to sleep I have been listening to a podcast about philosophy. Specifically, I am listening to the podcast Philosophize This.” Of course as I listen to this podcast, I am coloring. In fact I am coloring the creepy, morbid Disney Horror coloring book that I ordered off of Amazon. I’m hopingo to show you updates on the pictures I am coloring.

A Sleepless Time of Night in Seattle

Good Very Early in the Morning from my corner of the world known as Seattle!!! I am not really sure why I am unable to sleep tonight but it is frustrating as hell. I have been doing both coping skills as well as doing self care. They are helping a little bit but not as much as I wish they would help.

One of the things I have been dealing with is increased anxiety , PTSD and depression which sucks shit especially when they all decide to come all at once. One of things that appear to be helping it doing mindfulness meditation practices. It helps me stay grounded.

Another thing that helps me stay grounded in my so very smart kitty, Billie Dean. He seams to know when I need the extra support and makes sure I don’t leave his site. Oh how I love Billie and the connection we have. I am so grateful that he chose me. He is a great cat and am glad he is my cat.

Something else I have been doing it coloring. No, I am not coloring the Disney horror coloring book at the moment. I am coloring a coloring page I got from Stuff2Color.com. They have some awesome coloring pictures. In fact a colored one for my grandpa and framed it. I gave it to him for Christmas. He was happy about it and put it up on the wall for all to see.

Not Sorry About My Not So Rated G Post

Good Very Early Morning, World!!! Or at least it’s very early in the morning here in my corner of the world, known as Seattle. Apparently, some readers got offended by my last post regarding coloring a morbid coloring book that is all Disney characters. I received an email from WordPress that it disturbed some of my readers but it doesn’t break any rules or community standards. All they wanted was me to put a “Trigger Warning” at the beginning of the post. I totally understand about getting triggered by things and when I do, I talk with my mental health treatment team as well as other who are in recovery. I also use the skills I learned through therapy when I am triggered. Am I sorry the post triggered other, no not really. I feel bad that I triggered others but I’m not sorry about it as it could be a way for people to learn to cope by using coping skill that help them. For me coloring this coloring book is a way for me to heal from some things that are Disney related. For me coloring and doing a morbid coloring book is a form of self care and healing for me.

As far a the morbid Disney coloring book, it appears that my cat, Billie would like to help with me at times. He doesn’t seem bothered by the morbid Disney coloring book. I love my cat and how he likes my morbid sense of humor.

A Disturbing Way to Start a New Year by Coloring; Do a Disney Horror Coloring Book

Saw fart this is what I have what I have done with my start of my Disney Horror coloring books.

So, I ordered a morbid Disney graphic coloring book off of Amazon to have as I have love hate with relationship with Disney. I was going to see if my clients would want to do them as well. I quickly realized it would not be great for my clients to do. So I am have decided I will work on this particular horrific Disney coloring book myself and share my progress with you my reader. So here is the start of the first picture. I hope you like it so far. It will get more morbid as I do more pictures. I hope I can share this on a regular basis as I am sure the farther along I get in the coloring book the more morbid it gets. This is not the Disney I knew growing up near Disneyland. I’m pretty sure this is not the Disney any of knew in our childhood.

Wanting to Escape from My Own Reality

Good Evening, World!!! Right now I really want to escape my own reality. The reality of the depression I am dealing with. I personally think the depression I am currently dealing with has something to do with being in quarantine due to Covid-19.

Let’s start with first things first, work helps me not focus on my own reality as I need to make sure the needs of my clients get met. Plus it feels good when a client accomplishes a goal that they have bee working on for a long time. I love being able to walk along side of people who are working on their own personal journey of recovery.

Another thing the helps me escape from my own reality is volunteering at a local animal shelter. Even though I have my own cat to play with it is gratifying to see cats get adopted into a furrever home. Seeing cats adopted is rewarding in itself and I am thrilled to be able to experience that and not just with the cats I have adopted but cats that have been adopted by others.

Another way, I find a way to escape from reality it reading. Reading all sorts of books including comics or comic books. I do have to say be favorite comic book is Wonder Woman and I have my dad to thank for that. Despite my dad loosing his ability to read, he always encouraged me to read. In fact my favorite genre’s of books are science fiction, fantasy and horror books. Since my dad is unable to read due to a traumatic brain injury (TBI), we call each other every evening and I read him books. Doing this has helped mend and heal our issues. We do occasionally read comic books but that is more my thing that my dad’s thing. I am just grateful that reading to my dad is healing our relationship.

Of course I can forget my sweet loving cuddle bug of a cat that helps me escape the realities of what life has to bring. The cat love is unconditional and am grateful for my cat Billie Dean.

Let not forget the most important of escaping reality which is sleep. Sleep can be a major reality escape especially with people dealing with depression and other such mental health diagnosis.

My New Year’s Goals at a Glance

Hello, World!!! It is nearly nine thirty at night in my neck of the woods known as Seattle. I don’t think I have mentioned my goals for this year. I have a ton of them but will share just a handful of my goals for tonight.

First, I will be continuing to volunteering at PAWS Cat City as it helps me keep grounded. Not only does it help me keep ground but I get to help the cats find furrever homes which brings me a great deal of joy.

Another thing I plan on doing is mindfulness meditation practice on the daily basis. This, too keep me grounded. It also helps me keep my emotions under control.

Another thing that will help me with my emotions is doing self help workbooks. Workbooks that can help me with my emotions and help me be a better peer specialist.

I also plan on doing art as art helps me be creative and be able to express my emotions in a positive way. I love the fact the art can help me be a more positive person and less angry.

Reading is another way to help with my emotions and is great goal for me. Reading helps me escape from the realties of what is going on in the hard and harsh world we live in. Reading is a great escape for me and helps me come up with idea’s to do art work.

I have more New year’s goals for 2022 and will share them in another post. I do want to say that my cat, Billie Dean is one of my goals for this year. Billie is a goal for this year to make sure he stat heathy due to hi kidney disease. Thankfully it is under control and not exactly at stage one yet which is a great thing. He is such a love bug that loves to cuddle. I love him so much and I am sure he loves me back.

Grateful for a Three Day Weekend

Good Morning, again, World!!! Not much has changed since my last blob post. I am still coloring a freaky, horrific Disney coloring book which is somewhat relaxing to me. As far as the Christmas/Holiday book my great aunt is loaning me to reading, I am slowly reading. Not as fast as she would like me to but at least I am reading it. The think that is interesting me the most is reading my Wonder Woman Comic books. I need to prefer comic books as well as science fiction and fantasy books and occasionally anima books.

Of course I plan on do doing the majority of things I mentioned above. I am sure Billie Dean my cat will sitting with me as I do want I plan. Of course Billie will would like to help. I love my cat so very much.

A Random Middle of the Night Ramblings

 

Happy Middle of the night, World!!! I am unable to sleep once again when I should be sleeping and it suck shit. I highly don’t like not being able to sleep especially in the middle of the night. Not being able to sleep well affect my mental health a great deal which is why do have some skills I am able to do on sleepless nights.

So tonight’s skills will be doing art work while listening music like ACDC and Guns & Roses. I will be doing art work by coloring. Coloring Disney Horror scenes some that can be disturbing to others. I hope that I will be able to show you a completed Horror Disney page when I am done but just now it could be triggering to so some folks and not wise to chose children. I feel like it was perfect for me as I have a love hate relationship with Disney for many reasons. And yes I will be listening to some hard rock music while coloring Horror Disney pictures.

I am pretty sure my cat, Billie Deal will want to be helpful with with the coloring part of my plan. I love my cat Billie so much and how he is a a cuddle bug as well as a love but.

A Lazy Three Day Weekend at Home

Happy Friday, World!!! It’s a three day weekend here in the states. Martin Luther King Jr. day on Monday to honor him. I wish I had been alive to see him speak as he was a great and honorable man fighting for right of people of color.

On that note I plan on having a lazy three day weekend at home with my cat, Billie Dean. I love my Billie so much and he is such a love bug. I plan on doing a lot of lazy type things. One of the things I plan on doing is watching movies and television show via streaming sites. I’m pretty sure Billie will be in my lap when I do these activities.

I also plan on doing some art. Specifically, I plan on coloring. I plan on coloring as listen to a podcast. In fact I plan on listening to a podcast about philosophy. The philosophy podcast I plan on listening to is “Philosophize This.” I really enjoy listening to a podcast as I do something creative or clean but I don’t plan on cleaning this weekend as I am still dealing with Covid-19.

Dealing with Covid-19 sucks shit. I still feel like crap but I am feeling much better than I did when I was diagnosed with Coivid-19. As shitty as having Coivd-19 is I am grateful that I wasn’t hospitalized for it. I’m still coughing up a storm and feeling fatigue with brain fog. I also still have some loose bowl movements but at least they are becoming more solid. I’m sure you didn’t want to know about my bowl movements.
