Grateful for a Three Day Weekend

Good Morning, again, World!!! Not much has changed since my last blob post. I am still coloring a freaky, horrific Disney coloring book which is somewhat relaxing to me. As far as the Christmas/Holiday book my great aunt is loaning me to reading, I am slowly reading. Not as fast as she would like me to but at least I am reading it. The think that is interesting me the most is reading my Wonder Woman Comic books. I need to prefer comic books as well as science fiction and fantasy books and occasionally anima books.

Of course I plan on do doing the majority of things I mentioned above. I am sure Billie Dean my cat will sitting with me as I do want I plan. Of course Billie will would like to help. I love my cat so very much.

I do not not have much to more to say in in this particular blog post.. I do want to thank you for reading more blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of thing that you read my blog. If it was not for you reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. .So, again, thank you from the bottom of my by heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!!

An Extremely Lazy Sunday

Good Evening, World!!! It is ten o’clock at night in my neck of the woods known as Seattle. I literally have done nothing all day be eat, sleep and read Wonder Woman comic books. I mostly slept all day. I wish I didn’t sleep all day because it screws up with my sleep hygiene; sleep schedule.

I’m starting to get worried about my sleep schedule because I am wondering it is mainly due to getting over Covid-19 or if depression symptoms are starting to creep back in. No matter the reason, I just want to be back on my normal sleep schedule. If it is because of depression, I will need to let both my physical and mental health teams be aware of it. As far as the Covid-19 shit messing with the sleep, I know it’s normal for some people to feel extremely fatigue that it makes them sleep more than they usually do.

As far as when I have been awake today, I’ve been in bed cuddling with my very sweet kitty, Billie Dean. In fact I joke around with people that I sleep with a man every night name Billie. Not my fault people don’t pick up on the joke especially when they know I have a male cat. Billie is such a cuddle but and a pain in the butt at times.

While being in bed most of the day cuddling with my precious cat, Billie, I have been reading comics. Specifically comic books. To be more specific, I have been reading Wonder Woman comic books. In fact the back story of me becoming a Wonder Woman fan was because of my dad who was a single dad. Long story short my mom abandoned both my dad and myself in the middle of the night when my dad was working a night shift leaving me home by myself at the age of three. I know my mom left a note but since I couldn’t l read it I called my grandparent phone number which I was required to memorize. Anyway, my mom left both me and my dad because she couldn’t handle dealing with a man with a TBI working on sobriety and a daughter dealing with hearing impairments and speech delays. Even though I had my paternal grandmother as a female role model, my dad with his intellectual disabilities and TBI know he was not able to read due to is disabilities he wanted to make sure I had a role model to look up to even if it was/is a fictional one. So at the age of them three my dad started buying me Wonder Woman comic books. As I grew older and learned how to read, I would read two to three Wonder Woman comic books to my dad as part of our bedtime routine. I may still be sad my dad was not able to read bedtime stories to me but am grateful that we looked and Wonder Woman comic books as apart of our bedtime routine which turned into me reading them to my dad once I was able to read. Yes, my grandparents did help with me learning to read but watching my dad full of pride with me reading is something I will never forgot.

I do not have much more to say in this particular blog post except the my dad making sure I learned to read despite him not being able to read makes my heart happy and grateful. I would like to thank you for reading my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reading reading my blog, I would not be writing my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader do read my blog. Again, from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

Doing Self Care to Prepare Myself for Holidays with Family

Happy Holidays, World!!! It is still December 23rd in my corner of the world know as Seattle. I will be spending Christmas Eve with my dads side of the family about an hour north of where I live. After spending time with my dad’s side of the family on Christmas Eve, I will travel to Olympia, Washington later in the evening on Christmas Eve. I will be spending time with mom’s of the family on Christmas Day.

My self care regarding dealing with self care with family is making sure I have a self care in plan. One of the ways, I will deal is by reading two volumes of Christmas with Superhero’s as well as doing art work by color holiday coloring sheets. Another way I will be doing self care is listening to music. Specifically, Christmas music.

As far as my cat, Billie Dean, he will be taken care of by my grandpa at my grandpa’s place when I go visit my mom in Olympia, Washington which is the state capitol. I’m happy that I have family willing to take care of my cat when I a out of town.

I do not have much more to say in this particular post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog as if you the reader weren’t reading my blog, I wouldn’t be writing my blog. It is very appreciative that you the reading my blog because if it was not for you reading, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Happy Holidays and Peace Out, World!!!

A Week till Christmas

Happy Holidays, World!!! It is hard to believe that Christmas is a week from today. I have of sadly did last minute shopping today and boy were the stores busy as hell which is not a surprise. I mainly still celebrate Christmas because of family. Mainly because my grandpa as he is 91 and wants to keep the family traditions going. In all honestly I still celebrate with my mom and that side of the family because my mom doesn’t very much support and I don’t want her to be alone when this time of year is already tough on her. As much as I’m not a fan of Christmas due to my own shit, I celebrate it because I know how much it means to others and want to bring them joy.

Hell, if I’m honest with myself I have my own Christmas traditions even though I celebrate other holidays this time of year. My personal Christmas traditions that I do just for me is read two comic books call Christmas with the Superhero’s One and Two. I also do two to three holiday or wintery puzzles as I listen to Christmas music. I say two to three puzzles because it depends on the size of the puzzles I do. I also do art work related to Christmas. Specifically, I have some pretty detailed Christmas coloring pages I do every year as I listen to Christmas music. Some of the coloring pages still aren’t finished yet due to me only coloring them during the holiday season. In fact if it wasn’t for a couple of therapist encouraging me to make my own Christmas traditions for just me and actually doing my own traditions, I would be more of a bah hum bugger than I already I am.

On that note Christmas in the Seattle area is my idea of way to spend a great Christmas. I love being able to celebrate Christmas with friends, family and my cat as it rains. Well, it rains most Christmas’s. Seattle has been known to have a white Christmas on occassion.

Billie Dean, my cat will be getting spoiled this Christmas. My grandpa will be cat sitting Billie when I go see my mom’s side of the family and some friends in the Olympia area of Washington. It appears that Billie is well loved by others as he is getting many gifts this year from friends and family just like he did last year. I thrilled that I have friends and family that love my cat, Billie just as much as I do.

Before I end this particular blog post, I just wanted to let you know that I am listening to Christmas music. I want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you the reader do read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader reading my blog, I would not be writer my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my hear for reading my blog. Happy Holidays and Peace Out, World!!!

Geeking Out of Weird Ass Stuff

‘Good Evening, World!!! It appears to me that I am geeking out on podcast. Specifically a podcast on philosophy. The podcast I am geeking out on is “Philosophize This.” I feel like I am getting some education on the topic of philosophy. I am really enjoying this podcast and have the ability to get some form of education on philosophy.

I am not only Geeking out on podcast about philosophy, I am geeking out on comic books. I am geeking out reading Wonder Woman comic books. Being able to geek out on comic books is quite helpful with dealing with my anxiety and depression.

Another thing that I am geeking out on is my cat Billie Dean. I am such a geek when it comes to cats. Especially my own cat, Billie. I love Billie so very much. He is such a love bug as well as a cuddle bug.

Everything I have mentioned in this particular blog post, I geek out on because they help me deal with my anxiety and depression. Knowing what helps cope with my mental health diagnosis is always a good thing.

I do not have much more to say in the particular blog post. I do want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. If it wasn’t for you the reader, I would not be writing my blog. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

The Basic’s of the Reality of Self Care & Self Love

Happy Midnight from my corner of the world which is Seattle, Washington. As I stated it is midnight here in Seattle and it appears that I am unable to sleep. At this point in time I don’t think it is insomnia that is keeping me up.

The reason why I am thinking it is not insomnia as I have been doing to some good self care after the toe infection I have been dealing with. Even though I am suppose to be staying off of it, I am have been doing some major chores around my apartment. Specifically, I have been cleaning it as it is in desperate need of a major cleaning. The lack of cleanliness hasn’t been good for my depression which is why I am been cleaning about thirty minutes day. While cleaning I have been listening to music. Specifically, I have been listening to my Recovery Music list to keep me motivated.

Another thing that has helping me stay motivated is by doing mindfulness and meditation practices. Practicing mindfulness and meditation as helped me stat focused on what I need to do for good self care as well as good self love. Self love is extremely challenging for me which is why I am doing my best to do things that create self love in myself by doing mindfulness and meditation practices on a daily schedule.

As part of my self care, I am starting read books for fun again. I noticed when I read for fun it helps me go on a mini vacation without costing too much money. It could be done in many situations and can also be considered a form of mindfulness.

Oh an lets not forget about reading comic books. Comic books is a great way to do good self care as well as an awesome form of self love. Comic books has a way for me to believe in myself in ways other types of reading material may not be quite as helpful.

I recently bought some magazines regarding mindfulness, meditation , journaling as well as creativity to help me continue on good self care and good self love. Of course all this will be help me especially if I stick to it like I plan to. Journaling will be a good help with my recovery.

The one thing that helps me everyday, multiple times a day to stay grounded is my cat Billie Dean. Billie has been a great help with staying in the reality of doing good self care and self love. I love my cat Billie so much and am grateful for being able to having as a mindfulness exercise multiple times a day.

On a plus note I was able to go to work today (Friday) and was thrilled about it. I love being a Peer Support Specialist which is why I am focusing on self-care and self-love.

I do not have much more to say i this particular blog. I just want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things that you read my blog. Again, thank from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog; it truly is greatly appreciated. Now it is time to say goodnight now that is it midnight Seattle time. Plus it is time to cuddled with my precious kitty Billie Dean aka Billie the Kat aka Billie. I have everyone has great night ahead of them. Have an awesome weekend ahead and don’t forget to do good self care. You my readers are just very awesome people. Thank you for reading my blog. Good Night and Peace Out, World!!!

Snow, Snow Go Away

Good Evening, World!!! It is snowing here in Seattle and I want the snow to go away. I personally don’t like the snow as it means it is way too cold outside for me. I am originally from Southern California and have never been a fan of snow. I have gotten use to the dreary weather here in Seattle but I don’t think I can ever get use to snow and colder weather.

The only thing I had to do today was go get my meds. Thankfully, I all I needed to get to the pharmacy was use my own two feet as my pharmacy is within walking distance for me. I wish I didn’t have to pick up my meds twice a week and completely understand why I have to. I am hoping my psychiatric nurse practitioner will change back to weeklies. I would prefer monthly but will be okay with weekly.

Even though I didn’t have to volunteer today, I did so as I was asked to come in as they were short handed due to the snow and I live in walking distance of PAWS Cat City so it was easy for me to get there. There is only one cat a Cat City at the moment so I basically cleaned and spent time with the only kitty. The cat is a senior kitty and is sweet as sweet can be. My regular shift is tomorrow and am looking forward to it.

Other than getting my meds and happily volunteering unexpectedly, I read. I started reading a book that I started reading a while ago but never finished. So, I started from the beginning and am hoping to finish it by the time Emerald City Comic-con happens as the author is going to be there. I love reading and comic-cons and how the can be combined.

I don’t have much more to say. I just want to thank everyone for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone in the Seattle area stays safe during this snow. Peace Out, World!!!

Traditions & The Holidays

Hello, World!!! I am not sure how to feel at the moment as I have many emotions that are swarming around. Some emotions I am dealing with are not all the pleasant and really wanting to avoid them while other emotions more pleasant and obviously more willing to not avoid them. This is the time of year where things don’t go so well for me in regards to my mental health challenges. Specifically, my depression and PTSD. Thankfully, I have plenty of ways to take care of myself this time of year.

One of the things that was suggested to me early on in my recovery during the holidays was to start my own traditions that I can do with or without people. The only thing I could think of at the time was the two comic books that I had; Christmas with the Superhero’s, Volumes One and Two. So, every year, starting the day after Thanksgiving, I read those two comic books several times during the holiday season. On Christmas Day I read both twice.

Another tradition I started about eight or so years ago was to do a holiday themed jigsaw puzzle. I usually start the puzzle on November 25th or Thanksgiving Day, whichever arrives first. I have several holiday themed jigsaw puzzles I do and sometimes I am able to do two or three depending on the size while other years I only complete one. The one I am doing this year is a thousand pieces and I know from experience that it most likely will be the only holiday puzzle I do this year due to the size. The best part of this tradition is I get to see the “fruits” of my labor by the time Christmas arrives and enjoy it till January 2nd. Of course when I do several smaller holiday puzzles in a holiday season I see more than just one accomplished puzzle. Being able to see an accomplished puzzle helps with my personal morale for the season.

Even though the two traditions I mentioned already have been great traditions to keep and will continue to keep, I decided to add a new tradition this year. That tradition is to do some art. Specifically, coloring a holiday poster or two depending on size and detail. I have decided this tradition will be like the puzzles and start on November 25th or Thanksgiving, whichever arrives first. I have started coloring a holiday poster as of yesterday (November 25th). I am positive I will have at least one accomplished by Christmas Day.

For me starting my own holiday traditions has been a lifesaver for me and my recovery. The reason being is because most of the other holidays traditions I follow through with has some form of trauma or sadness tied to them and needed some that didn’t have either. Most of the other traditions I do includes family as my family is big on traditions. The holidays are not the best time of year for me due to the trauma I have experienced around the holidays so having traditions of my own helps me redefine what the holidays are for me.

I could go on and on about traditions however I won’t as I am getting a little sleepy and plan on going to bed. I want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things. Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my blog. I hope everyone has a good night of sleep ahead of them if it is nighttime for you. If not I hope you have a good day ahead of you. Peace Out, World!!!

Everyday Inspiration; Day 6: The Space to Write

Hello, World!!! Today’s assignment for WordPress’s Finding Everyday Inspiration course is asking about the space we write in. For me the space I write in varies on a number of factors. It various on what type of thing I am writing as well as what type of mood I am in and what I use to write with.

For instance when I write in regards to my blog I write on my laptop which means, I am usually home. There are times when I am not home when I blog and usually that is when I am out of town so I most likely would be in a hotel room when I blog if out of town. When I write for my blog it is always via my laptop.

As far as other types of writing, I really think it all depends on what type of mood I am in. When it comes to writing in regards to journaling, I have a journal, I write in and most of the time write with a pencil. I am not sure why I prefer pencil over pen when journaling but I do. When it comes to where I journal it all depends on if I am needing to journal to help me regulate my emotions and if I have the place and emotional space to do so. Most of the time I find a place to do so. I usually like to journal outside as it gives me a different perspective on things.

When it comes to writing poetry I usually do it with a paper and pencil or on my laptop. Using paper and pencil or my laptop makes it easier to changes things in the poem if it doesn’t seem right to me. When it comes to where I write, I think it is dependent on what inspires me to write poetry. I do have a journal I keep my poetry in and that is when I transfer it to the journal in pen.

As far as writing letters goes, I think it all depends if it is a business letter or personal letter. When it is a business letter I type it on my laptop. When it is a personal letter I tend to write it with a paper and pen. Sometimes I even write on a postcard. I tend to write letters from home or in a hotel if I am out of town. When I get a chance to travel out of town any where even if its only two hours from where I live I like to write letters and/or postcards to people as it is always nice to receive snail mail.

The latest type of writing includes a combination of drawing, coloring and writing in the form of comics. I start out with paper and a pencil just in case I make a mistake or want to change something. After I am done with the comic, then ink it and color it. I started doing comics when I took an art class about comics. In fact doing comics is another form of art for me to do that includes writing. As to where I do this is dependent on my mood and what stage of the comic I am doing.

Before, I end this post and assignment, I was asked as apart of the assignment to ask you my reader to give me suggestion via my contact page on what you would like me to write about. It is for a future assignment. It would be greatly appreciated if you could help me out on this as it is for an assignment and it would also help me out for future post that is not related to an assignment. I would like to know what you would like me to write about even when I am not doing a WordPress course.

I do not have much more to say in the post. I am sorry I was so long winded in this post but apparently I was inspired about what I write and where I write. I want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things. Again, thank you for reading my blog. Peace Out, World!!!

A Random Monday Evening Post

Good Evening, World!!! As I mentioned in my last post today was and still is a day for me do good self care. So far doing good self care has been challenging to do however it is something that continues to be accomplished. The most challenging of the self care acts was that of taking a shower. Not sure why it has been the most challenging but it was. I did take a shower shortly after my last post and am grateful that I accomplished it.

As accomplished as I feel taking a shower, I feel just as accomplished with the other things I have done today. In fact, I did a great deal of walking today and feel proud that I walked as much as I did today. In fact all the walking I did today led me to walking to a park and enjoying myself there.

When I was at the park, I was there for about an hour and a half. I just sat there enjoying the beauty of the park as well as read. I read some comic books. In fact the comic books I read today at the park were Wonder Woman. If you have been reading my blog for awhile you are well aware that I am a huge Wonder Woman fan. I have been a Wonder Woman fan since I was a kid. My dad got me into Wonder Woman and I greatly appreciate him for that.

Since returning home from the park, I decided to listen to a podcast about mythology. In fact if it wasn’t for being a big fan of Wonder Woman, I don’t think I would be interested in learning about mythology. After each episode of the podcast about mythology, I go online and look up what was discussed so I am educating myself even more on the subject of mythology.

As I listened to the podcast on mythology, I did some art. Specifically, the art that I did was color. I love to color for a multitude of reasons. One of which is that it is a type of mindfulness practice for me. I am coloring a poster and hope to finish it to give to my therapist. For me giving people finished coloring projects is gratifying.

I don’t have much else to say and really should get going to I can get me something to eat for dinner. I want to thank you for reading my blog. It is greatly appreciated from my end of things. I hope everyone has a great rest of their evening. Peace Out, World!!!
