Playing The Waiting Game

Good Morning, again, World!!! I sit here at my laptop in the waiting room of my doctors office. So the waiting game begins. I highly dislike going to the doctors but it is so much better than having to go to the hospital. I really dislike playing the waiting game but that is why I decided to bring my laptop with me so I can keep myself entertained somehow.

As I play the waiting game the theme of money keep coming up due to the advertisements I have on my blog. Every time someone clicks on an ad, I get a few cents. Yes, few cents isn’t all that much but it all adds up.

Another thing, I brought with me today as I play the waiting game is I brought my comic books. Actually, I brought my Wonder Woman comic books as Wonder Woman is my favorite superhero.

I just hope that my doctor gives me stronger antibiotics to help get rid of this weird ass mouth infection that I have. I’m hopeful yet extremely doubtful that I’ll get some stronger pain meds. I’m doubtful due to the fact that I have a family history of drug abuse and I don’t want to get addicted. Plus I don’t need another issue on top of the issues I already have. All I want is for the infection to go away because when it goes away then so does the annoying ass pain. I really dislike waiting with a passion and I hope that my doctor isn’t running late.

I am a big proponent of starting and ending things on time. I say this because people have lives to live. That means in their lives that they have other obligations to attend to. Like for me, I have to rush to go see my therapist.

I should get going as it is almost time for my appointment and want to make sure I am ready when they call out my name. Thank you for reading. You all are awesome. Happy Friday. Peace Out, World!!!

Depressed Yet Grateful

Good Morning, World!!! I woke up this morning depressed yet grateful to be alive. I’m grateful to be alive as I am realizing that I never would have thought when I was in my late teens and early twenties that I would live to be my current age of 39. I thought way back when that I would have been dead due to suicide.

Despite being depressed and unemployed, I am grateful for my life and the life I have lived thus far. Yes, I have made my fare share of mistake however they have helped shaped who I am today. I have decided to share with you my gratitude list for the day.

  • Life itself
  • My cat, Lil Gertie
  • My family
  • My friends
  • The blogging community
  • The mental health help I am getting
  • My therapist
  • My doctors
  • My apartment
  • My teddy bear
  • Being able to read
  • Music
  • Being able to play the flute and harmonica
  • Summer

That is my gratitude list for today. I hope it helps you find the little things in life to be grateful for. Thank you so much for reading my blog. It is extremely appreciated on my end that I have people that read my blog. Have a great day. Peace Out, World!!!

Seattle Police Helping With Opioid Epidemic

Good Evening, World!!! I am a happy camper right now as the local news station I watch made sure to emphasis a particular that many advocates like myself are thrilled about. Seattle Police was able to get a donation of one hundred or so naloxone (narcan) for more officers to carry to help in an opioid overdose.

I know many people take issues with such things however, I as advocate of the Harm Reduction model as well as being a live in general I am all for this. You kind of need to be alive to be able to choose to be in recovery.

Below is a picture of what a naloxone kit looks like.

Adulting With A Bit Of Fun

Good Evening, World!!! Today, was a day of adulting. I basically cleaned my apartment today as well as did some grocery shopping. I bought mainly some basic food to get me through to when I get my food stamps in a few days.

When I cleaned my apartment, I listened to music. Music that has helped me get through some tough shit as well some fun time. Music also helps me deal with the boring parts of being an adult like cleaning.

After I was done being an adult I decided to have some fun and read. Reading the book that I informed you about a post or two ago. I love reading as it helps me forget what is going on in life even just temporary.

Thank you so much for reading. Goodnight and Peace Out, World!!!

Happy Birthday, Gertie

First and fore most I want to wish the love of my life, Gertie, a very Happy Birthday. Gertie deserves the best birthday ever. I am starting off their birthday with doing my guest post all about Gertie and how I am going to celebrate them today. I’m posting this at four in the morning so when Gertie gets up with breakfast in bed that they will already have birthday wishes from you, the reader Gertie works so hard for. Breakfast in bed and birthday wishes from you, the reader is only the first two presents I will be giving to.

The other gifts Gertie will be opening first thing this morning is art supplies for their art work. Books and comic books for them to read. This way Gertie will have a way to express their emotions through art as well as get out of their on head by reading books.

Of course Gertie planned something for themselves as part of a recovery present to themselves which is to go and have a therapy appointment with Gilbert. Gertie thinks therapy is a great way to celebrate a birthday since they are not able to work at the moment.

When Gertie gets back from their appointment I’ll take them to their favorite restaurant of Red Robin. Gertie loves Red Robin. I already know what Gertie is going to get and that is what makes going to Red Robin so easy.

Thank you for reading. Please, from the bottom of my heart, to know forget to wish Gertie a Happy Birthday. I love Gerties so much. I want to make Gertie’s birthday as special as I am able to do so.

Just Too Much Adulting

Good Afternoon, World!!! I know it is only two in the afternoon in my corner of the world but I have had just too much adulting for the day. Yes, while doing chores I listened to music which helped a great deal. It is just the other parts of adulting that were getting to me.

For example, while listening to music and cleaning my apartment two of my neighbors were screaming at each other in the hallway. Screaming that led into a physical altercation between the two of them which led to the police being called.

Now that I am done adulting for the moment, I am going to take a break from reality. Taking a break from reality by doing some things I enjoy doing. One thing to escape reality that I will be doing is art. It will help me express the emotions of the day and life in general.

Another way I am I escape reality it by reading. Reading a book or two that is fiction. Actually, I will be reading a fantasy book. Reading a fantasy book is definitely an escape on reality.

Thank you so much for reading about my life. Peace Out, World!!!

A Day of Adulting

Good Morning, World!!! Today is going to be a day full of adulting. It is my plan to do some chores today. Specifically household chores. I also have to pay my credit card bill but that is a simple as eating apple pie.

I am not a big fan of doing chore yet I know it is a necessary part of life. A part of life for me that is conducive to my recovery. It always makes me feel better when I accomplish things especially when in comes to having a clean apartment. I’m not a messy person it is just me wanting  to feel good for my birthday tomorrow. We all feel better when our place of residence is clean even if we aren’t necessarily messy folks.

Now it is time for me to go and adult. Have a great day!!! Peace Out, World!!!

The Oh So Elusive Thing Called Sleep

Hello, World!!! Once again I am having another night of what looks like of no sleep. Sleep is a major part of my recovery and to living everyday life. I guess that I am getting frustrated that I am not being able to sleep. Sleep is key for me to be stable.

Stable to where I can function as a productive member of society. Society that expects people like myself to work. Hell, I expect me to work because I know I am able to do so however my symptoms are getting the fucking what of being a functioning adult.

Now that I am done venting, I am going to attempt to get some sleep. Thank you so much for reading. Goodnight. Peace Out, World!!!

Thin Mints Washing Away My Sorrows

IMG_0326

Good Evening, World!!! It has been one of them days. No matter what I do, I gain a little ground and then trip over the other shoe that finally dropped. Even though, I am struggling at this particular moment in time, I remember the things that give me hope like what I mentioned in my previous post.

I might be dealing with grief and loss from my grandma’s death as well as a trauma but I’m not harming myself which is a good thing. No, I don’t have urges to self harm but what I’m saying is that with the recent difficulties I am dealing with is that I could have some mental health symptoms that are more difficult than others to deal with.

Right now, I am eating a box of Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. It is quite soothing for me to treat myself to Thin Mints. Girl Scout cookies are only sold for a limited time once a year.

Thank you for reading. Peace Out, World!!!
